Pick #4 Denzel Ward

Fuck Bradley Chubb and all the analysts who like him more than Ward. They're just wrong.

Entering the 2018 season, the Denver Broncos rookie class was highly thought of by fans and analysts. With five games in the books, how have the rookies performed for the Broncos?
[h=2]Bradley Chubb, OLB[/h]The No. 5 overall pick of the Broncos hasn't made many eye-popping plays, which has lead to a lot of fans thinking he has been a disappointment. Sure, he hasn't produced many flash plays, but he is playing disciplined football and making very few mistakes.
Bradley Chubb has taken on some good left tackles in the NFL and has applied a number of pressures to lead all rookie edge rushers. In the run game, he has been stout on the edge and has even made some plays.

It all hasn't been great but Chubb has shown enough to believe in his development as an edge defender. The coaches just have to watch it with him in coverage, which is where the bad plays have come from.
Grade: B+

Meanwhile, Avery is a top ranked Edge, and has faced 3 SuperBowl hopeful O-lines.

Our opponents O-line rankings are

Steelers 14
Saints 3
Jets 22
Raiders 23
Ravens 13

So we now know, in addition to Dorsey knowing Mayfield was his pick for months before the draft, Rap adds that Ward was the pick at 4 for months as well.

Love Dorsey's way of thinking. He thinks like me. You know what they say about great minds. Enough about me though. Go Browns! Bring home a SuperBowl so us older guys can revel before our time is up ;)

Also of note is that they're talking about Chubb"s continued development as a top 5 pick.

Not Ward!

To be fair here, one is a college DE going in to the NFL to play OLB. The other is a college CB going in to the NFL to play CB. The "development" is going to be a bit more pronounced and talked about a bit more for the guy learning a new position on the fly in the NFL

Would a 2017 Pro Bowler currently rated as PFF's 4th best LB in the NFL count as a high-end LB? Felt like there were a few guys named Schobert out there Sunday.

You guys see this today? Wow, just wow.

Cleveland Browns: Cornerback Denzel Ward has allowed an average of 0.92 yards per coverage snap. Since 2006, this is the second-best mark for a rookie outside cornerback after Week 5. He’s done this despite being tied for the second-most targeted cornerback this year.

To be fair CB is way tougher than LB or DE.

Let's just hope our upcoming opponents continue to pick on the rookie while he continues to just pick.

Tomorrow will be such a good test for Ward. I imagine he will be assigned to Allen, who moves all over the field, so we may see Ward playing in the slot which will be a good test. But also, Allen is perhaps the best route runner in the NFL. Great matchup, great test.
