Browns Pick #94, Dillon Gabriel QB, Oregon (aka, the Amari acquired pick)

Isn't Josh Cribbs like 5'10"?

Confirmed, Frodo Galadrial will be a franchise QB in Cleveland..
I'm just going to say it. I've looked through your past on this forum and there is no evidence you've anything. You haven't even predicted if Wednesday will arrive tomorrow, let alone have anything to differentiate the importance of your thoughts from anyone else.

So far the criticism of Gabriel have been short jokes and arm strength narratives.

So, at least one and a half original thoughts per post. On average? Is that the bar?
Who is going to count it?
Do we keep rankings? A forum jail for those who dont? Who will be judge? Do we ramp it up to two and a half when the season starts?

So many questions.

Well that was definitely some left field beta male crying. You should look into that, get your estrogen levels checked. Here: Titan Medical Center – HRT, Medical Weight Loss, Rejuvenation

They'll fix it for you little buddy.

As for me? I've been here since day 1 and been giving in depth and controversial takes since day 1. Ask nickers, or Gabe.

Meanwhile you've contributed absolutely nothing, ever, at any point to this board. What's more, your effeminate and limp wristed attempts at insulting me come off like another joke who hangs out on this board. Very similar. So similar I am starting to think you're a sock account.

Irregardless, get that estrogen checked my little midget princess.

I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself! :ROFLMAO:

That's real tough dude. I hope that made your day. Personally I don't feel the need to pump my chest about how long I've been on an internet forum. But that's me.

Gabriel "starts" today. From what I've seen and read, he looked pretty good. As did Shedeur. Preseason couldn't start sooner enough. I am very intrigued on what their contrast is in games. Like I said, I think the separation is pocket mobility.

Jokes aside, this was against the best defense in CFB last year. This is as close to the NFL as you can get in the lower level. It's not Hawaii against a nobody, or Houston against a nobody. This is Oregon against THE Ohio State.

From start to finish, Gabriel took this game. It wasn't given. It wasn't like some games Sanders had where WRs are wide open. He had to throw with anticipation to tight windows again and again. When opportunities were there deep, he had to hit the WR in stride. And he did, along with demonstrating a mobility I don't often see him get credit for. It's in the bag.

All I'm wondering is, is it 2015 or even 2005? When did height all of a sudden become a death sentence again? Weren't Kyler Murray and Bryce Young selected no. 1 overall and still starting? I think so. I think it's 2025 and QBs of all sizes have had success in this league.

Kyler Murray and Bryce Young
What I've read, and it somewhat checks out, is if you're going to be a short QB, you better be elite at something.

Murry is fast.
Wilson is a multi-sport pro athlete
Bryce is still starting, but still TDB as the QBoTF.

Gabriel took 6 college years to become draftable. We over drafted him. He was ranked, on average, as QB7-9, in a weak QB class.
No harm in giving him a chance, but he's a small 5'10" dude without an elite trait, who was on a stacked team at Oregon. Sanders, by contrast, has been called "a big 6-2". Has the lower body to shred a tackler, which he did a lot in college.

Having said that, I'd love for any of our current QB's to ball out. Don't care who.

This is Gabriel's Superpower. He is the most experienced college QB of all time and has NEVER had a non-elite statistical year and NEVER a losing season. Like you said, that's 6 years. I'm sure you saw Gabriel himself was pretty disappointed and surprised when he received his draft grade last year. What did he do? He took it in stride and had the greatest season of his career.

Maybe man just good at football?

I completely agree that I don't care which gets the nod. Neither is the actual long-term plan. But they both seem like really solid, young men who will be a breath of fresh air from what we've experienced since Baker was traded.

Funny enough, that's the same argument I have on Sanders.
Fan of both my friend. I actually think Sanders is better in the short and the intermediate game, with a clean pocket. I think Gabriel is better deep and is more consistent overall as a thrower. What separates them IMO is Gabriel movement skills, particularly in the pocket. Stefanski specifically mentioned that aspect of Gabriel and you can see it riddled through his games, including this one I posted.

If Sanders masters that pocket mobility, well he'd have evolved into a different player. Which is what you hope for. And I don't doubt he might. This is his first time with a HC not named Pops.
