Browns Pick #94, Dillon Gabriel QB, Oregon (aka, the Amari acquired pick)

Or the Steelers did what all the teams will do from here on out. Stop Judkins and force the QB to win the game be it Gabriel, Sanders or even Watson.

Any simpleton can see that's how to shut down this offense and it has little to do with who the QB might be. WR's aren't winning the game. TE's aren't winning the game. The OLine is trash. The offense hasn't had a basic 20 point game in a year and likely will not get one.

DG is the poster child for “average at best”.

••••••••

We need a QB who:
  • Can elevate those around him
  • Can deal with the running game getting stifled
  • Can overcome a bad O-line
  • Can turn around a program that’s been bad for a while
  • Can overcome an average offense scheme
  • Can overcome below average play calling

Maybe Zappe can do that, or the other guy. Will have to check notes and track records.

You have an evaluation after 2 starts?!!

I'd add Flacco did pretty good in his first start with Cincy. He threw 2 TD's one to a WR! 29/45 219yds 2/0 QBR of 90.9
That wasn't happening here as we all know.

:unsure::unsure::unsure:

yup haha

A complete eval? No.
But man, take away the sacks and drops, and he was still soooo not-good.
6 intercept-able balls and tons of off target throws.
He's a rookie. He'll look slow like Lamar did for three years!
All these people crying about how we didn't have patience developing QB's and where are they now? A: Fuck 'im!

The league knows to stop Judkins and force the Browns QB to win the game.

Sanders will get a shot at it because why not? It really doesn't matter who the QB for us is right now.

In order to be given a long leash in the league, you have to either be a 1st round pick, or show flashes. That's 0 for 2 for DG.

I'm not ready to ax him, I'm just saying he's not done anything. He's also not your average rookie, as the record holder for college starts and all.
Add, I think the only long-shot we have on the roster for a franchise QB is Sanders. Gabriel has like no shot. Just my opinion. Could well be wrong.

Idk that Sanders is going to make this offense any better is all I'm saying.

LOL! #FreFallForFernando🍻

Probably not, but as I joshed around above, Sanders overcame similar obstacles.
  • Little supporting casts, and had to elevate those around him
  • Shitty running game (at least ours has a chance, but didn't yesterday)
  • Bad O-line
  • Crappy offense with crappy play-calls
I'm with you. Idk if it'll work, but he has dealt with a similar mess. Understood that college and the NFL are different.

Meanwhile, Gabriel went to UCF where they were 12-1 the year before he arrived, then (as we all know) went to football powerhouses in Oklahoma and Oregon. Many of his games, the talent around him was comparable/superior to the opponent's.

Sanders, had inferior talent around him, at least at CU for sure.

Gabriel has proven he can be a back-up. That's about it for him I think, a decent back-up.

There's no hurry to trot Sanders out there. Let Gabriel start the next 4 or 5 and then let Sanders give it a try.

Pretty sure we're going QB high in the draft next year.
