Spit-Balling

Does anybody have a link about Saleh Blowing the doors off his interview(s)?

As far as Stefanski goes I just saw his Cousins led offense beat the saints up pretty easily. Not so much for McDaniels Brady led offense.

And to think all Haslam had to do was offer Cousins a lucrative deal and he could have been here kicking ass and taking names, despite the fact that many here thought Cousins wasn't worth the money, time or effort.....

Cousins is NOT elite... I want ELITE... Cousins needs help... His accuracy is suspect at times... I'm glad we passed on him..

Elite? Cousins is 100 times better than anything the Browns have had since Bernie and yet you'd pass on him for the likes of Kizer and whatever other bozos this team has drafted since? I admit I was high on Baker but I'm not buying the Kitchens excuse on Mayfield's suckass season. Baker needs to take accountability or go the way of Kitchens if he has a poor season next year. I'll take Cousins over Baker in a heartbeat. Did you notice Baker's accuracy this year? It sucked!

Cousins is shit... puhleeze!

The problem with that statement? He's in the playoffs and the Baker led Browns are sitting at home like they've been for, how long now?

I thought of AO and or '56!
:roflmao:

But '56 would not put up with me fucking around with his posts.

All I ask is for links or some sort of reference that explains why your post(s) have any credence. It's why Twitter does work. It's a tool. It can also be used improperly like any other tool.

Cousins isn't shit...but his 0-9 on prime time games, and this was his very first BIG TIME win. He is a regular season champion who seems to choke for the most part in pressure situations on the big stage. Has been his MO his entire career.

This was last year's stats:

He went 1-2 this year in prime time, 0-2 on Monday night. 2-4 against winning teams. That is NOT elite. But he is a serviceable QB that can win with the right tools around him.

This will be his defining year 1 way or another, because he definitely has the tools around him

I kinda get into trouble with my Kirk Cousins reference, because a lot of people bundle him in with the true greats of this century and I actually don't: Phil Rivers.

Both can be deadly accurate passers from a clean pocket and both guys are smart. Neither has a plus arm, neither does anything with his legs, and neither are good at creating from the pocket, extending plays, throwing on the run.

I don't see either as truly elite pocket passers (Manning, Brady, Brees) nor multifaceted like Russ, Lamar, Mahomes, etc. I see Baker as very Brees-ish with a bigger arm and (although he didn't time well) quicker feet.

I think you can win a championship with Cousins, I just don't see it as a sustained winning situation. Stars would have to align, similar to Eli Manning, another guy in that Rivers-Cousins subset.

They chose who's the best I hope.

That said

My biggest fear Josh gets the job.

Josh pushes for Brady whom all of a sudden decides he's worth 30 million a year on a 3 year deal.

In the meantime Baker gets pushed aside.

Yeah big reality there.

Spit balling for geniuses there.

That's being floated around a lot, but I just don't see it happening. Absolutely if we had a quarterback who isn't worth shit, but Baker is a talented guy who has proven he can play in the NFL.

Even in the worst possible circumstance, kid just threw for 3,800 yards and 22 TDs. Imagine what he looks like with healthy OBJ/Landry, healthy TE, functional OL, and some half-way decent blocking - not to mention a system that works in the NFL, McDaniels draws up plays better than Kitchens.

Question around Mayfield ignore that he's posted 49 touchdowns and 7,500 passing yards in two years. That's really fucking good.

I wouldn't hold my breath on McDaniels trying to replace Mayfield. If McDaniels comes here, it's because he wants to work with Mayfield. If he wants Brady, he'll stay in New England with a better roster. (Maybe not better from a talent perspective, but better from a perspective of experience, of being well coached, and understanding his system.)

A lot of people have taken the Brady angle and run with it, but I don't see that happening.

Bringing in Brady or another veteran to QB this team would crush Mayfield.
I’m willing to give him a third year under the proper circumstances in a prove it year but he has some growing up to do.
Forget the chip on the shoulder and grow as a man and leader of this team, this along with a proper QB coach and a willingness to adapt and it’s possible that he becomes the answer for the next decade.

Bring in Brady and you may as well trade Baker.
I’m not there yet...

I think it would be a royal slap in the face to Baker.. I'm not ready to give up on the kid just yet..

Rodgers, Wilson, Brady, Ben Rape,

Brace yourself. Are you sitting down? If McDaniels comes here, Brady will be coming as well. Remember what happened with Bernie when BB arrived? We may be kissing Baker goodbye as I stated in another post, or placing him on the groom list to learn from Brady. From the bench......

The question isn't would it hurt Baker...obviously it would. The question is, well questions are: Is this something McDaniels will push for, and if so, will the Browns brass buy into it.

I can tell you it is anti-analytics...completely...and in my opinion if McDaniels pushes for it I would question his dedication to long term success at the expense of immediate returns (and even that is questionable).

Baker is a huge part of the allure for the Browns. Nobody nowhere seriously believes he went from the best 3-year D1 career in history to one of the best rookie years in history to garbage. Not one soul in the league thinks that. They know what he is and they know the circumstances of 2019.

Tom Brady is not coming to Cleveland. He'll probably stay in New England... or I'd look at San Diego. They desperately need a narrative, it's already a Rams town again, couldn't even fill that cool little soccer stadium. Brady in that freakishly amazing stadium? Aces, kid. Aces, I say.

His age was showing last season. He's not really that huge of a get. It's not like Mahomes suddenly joins the Chargers.

Odds makers, twitter, and MM in general all have Cleveland as his landing site...assuming he doesn't stay in NE. These are things you rely on to say McD is a forgone conclusion...so are they suddenly untrustworthy?
