A good list. I'll add Kubiak. He may be this generation's Kyle Shanahan.
Son of a coach, now a successful OC, next step is HC somewhere.
Grossi saying (fwiw):
- Less people involved in the search this time. No Depo, for example. Also, no firm hired to head the search
- This is AB's first HC hire, thus his role has not only been maintained, but enhanced within the organization
- Side note, this is why AB and KS were not married at the hip. They never were. Haslam has always viewed them as individuals. In other words, KS was never AB's choice, even though they got along just fine. This is the first time AB will get HIS choice.
- AB will likely lean towards a younger candidate, meaning Schwartz, who turns 60 this year, is less likely
- No word on if an offensive minded, or defensive minded, candidate is preferred
- AB seems to think HE built this defense, and with all but one started under contract, a different DC might be just fine
- The defensive players clearly want Schwartz to be kept around
