The DePodesta manifesto

When we've been able to watch Stefanski, Berry, and DePodesta together, it's really confidence inspiring. They're smart, they're calm, they're adults. I haven't felt this level of confidence... well... I just haven't felt it since the return.

I mean, I've always dug Dorsey and loved having him in the fold, I really did. I was psyched. But his blind spots kept coming up, the negatives that have dogged him, and then it all went so bad so fast and so obviously it was jarring. Right away, Freddie did not sound or seem like a head coach.

So I guess I had a minute of confidence and excitement, the same time we all had it, like a drunken orgy of OBJ and Vernon and all that. The balls to draft Baker, then also getting Ward and Chubb.

But I've never watched (and read) interviews and thought, "This organization is definitely aligned, rowing in the same direction, and I don't sense any sudden dramatic personality conflicts among them. They're not those guys."

It truly is inspiring. Seeing Mike Zimmers coffee fetcher sitting beside the worst NFL Exec in the history of the game and the worst Player Personnel guy in NFal history, all cluelessly wstching players at the combine before consulting Paulie Nonuts laptop on who to draft.... Bone chilling.

I haven't felt this excited since Dorsey fires Sashi and demoted the guys who went 1-31 in order to bring in Dorsey... Oh wait, these ARE the morons that went 1-31.... Wait a sec, that isn't inspiring at all.

I still shake my head in disbelief when I think about all of this..

Underachieving is nice and dandy when you are accumilating picks and cap space.
But eh. Then splashing all those picks and cap space on one questionable, suspended and injury prone quarterback is NOT a good follow up strategy.
Who wudda thunk.
