The fan gear thread

I understand when money is tight but I
Would rather save my money and buy authentic
rather than knockoffs.
Sizes are for shit they shrink and just not
what I would waste money on..
I bought a personalized white jersey that
was about two hundred dollars fifteen twenty
years ago,still looks great.
Might buy another once I see the new uni’s!

BARRELS!!!! I love those because it's something else, you know? Like another element of the whole lifetime of Browns, the partying. LINK ME!!

My favorite color is brown... seriously... but it's kind of a tough match for anything but jeans. I'd go with the orange. 3 months on set makes you realize certain things (!).

Before I moved to Thailand I used to buy lots of jerseys from those chinese websites. Mostly NFL but some NBA, MLB for me and my co-workers. Worn 'em, washed 'em, worn 'em again with no problems. No complaints from me or my friends. Just no way I'm spending $300 a pop when I can get them for $25. Not losing a bit of sleep worrying about the NFL's $8 billion a year business.

spending $300

You know what I would spend $300 on? A game jersey with authentic sleeves instead of those long flappy sleeves that go down to the elbow.

As every redneck knows, sun's out, guns out.

My son loved wearing his high school jersey to school on football Fridays. He looked great, and loved the fitment. Then Sunday comes, and a top of the line NFL jersey wears like a grandpa shirt.

Two qualifiers. 1) I/he prob wouldn't pay $300, but I would pay a pretty penny, and 2) I'd like to have a "real sleeve" jersey as well (not just for kids). It'd have wide appeal.

I've never understood why Nike can't figure this out.

I got my grandma to cut the sleeves of my Cribbs jersey and sew them short. Loved it. Finally looked like a jersey rather than a shirt with built in elbow warmers.

I still get a little sad when I wear my newer jerseys because she's passed away and I've got nobody left who knows a damn thing about a sewing machine.

I've never understood why they have to make the sleeve so painfully long. So long that you can't even roll them up because then it just looks like you're wearing arm braces.

Haven't worn any in a while so I'll have to check but I think I've got a Peyton Manning jersy (Denver) with the short sleeves you're talking about. The pre nike jerseys are longer sleeved (?) but I don't mind them. Too old to worry about my guns. They'e muskets now anyway. I get some folks aren't fans of the knock offs but I've never had a problem. Guess it depends on where you order from. I'm guessing a lot of them come directly from the facories that make the genuine ones but some just seem to go missing.

TBF, Nike DOES sell those “Speed Machine Elite” jerseys, which are about as close to the real deal as you can get. But they cost a packet.

Or you can get one of the “Legend” ones that’s more like a so-called shirtsey... they have shorter sleeves.

Shit - I never knew! Thanks!

(Addendum: but might as well wait for the new uni's now)

Has a chance to be decent. Historically, they're terrible.

I flipped an ovary when I saw my beloved elf on the cap!! No boring ass orange helmet. Finally.

Tells us the brownie will be in the mix.

I don't love the Elf, but I do like that Modell didn't like it, so it's use is okay in that way. And I do like it better than a helmet on a hat.

I mean a helmet on a hat. Pffft. You might was well just put on there "Go Sports!".

The elf is great. The orange helmet on a hat is extremely boring.

I appreciate and am a fan of tradition But our apparel most stinks because we have no real logo.
