Enigmatic Evil

Mr. Censor
The new Helmet/Dog Pound has made the rounds by now, a lot of people are unimpressed. A great argument I've read is who hyped this? The team, the media or the fans? It seems the Team's been pretty clear with the logo presentation even going so far as to tease a helmet silhouette... Media on the other hand?

Anyway just food for thought. I like the tinkering with the helmet logo. Keep it simple, the helmet is an institution. It's been our logo for over 50 years now. I quite like the dog logo as well. WOOF WOOF WOOF!

So since it's been a while I figured a poll was a nice way to settle this. I'll be closing the other thread so we can centralize talks here but what do you guys think about the logo revamp?

The biggest thing to me is that the jerseys will be revealed in April and there's a hard date (the 14th? I don't remember offhand.)

So what do you think of the new logo?

AND

HOW drastic a change are we in for with the uniforms?

I went "Meh"

I mean.. its not BAD

But its just not good you know?

They couldve done so much more. The Paul Brown silhouette stuff was awesome..

The dog... the old one looks more vicious.. this one looks like a friendly cartoon..

I can see the "family oriented" angle

I dont hate it.. I just wanted to LOVE it

I was in between its okay and woof woof as I really like the helmet. Kind of prefer the old dawg as far as that goes.

"New logo evolution", while accurate, implies something really neat as a stand alone announcement after a 2 year build up. It'd be kind of like Penn State holding a press conference for a "fuller and warmer shade of white".

But heck, if's and but's were fruits and nuts and all, I like it. Fan apparel will still have various shades of orange and types of font as it always has, but on the field combined with the new uni's and I'm betting we're praising them.

All good.

Im pretty sure based on the Twitterverse and seeing what the Browns are doing with their website and these logos.. is that ORANGE may be the new PRIMARY

and Im PSYCHED about that

Ive been wanting an ORANGE Jersey for SOOO LONG.

Didn't someone say by changing the uniforms, we are un-grandfathering ourselves as far as our "unfair competitive advantage" brown uni's go? If so, it seems like white and orange, with the splash of gun-metal is what we're in for.

It's too bad we're losing that advantage btw, Shanny was working the ball-hiding abilities of brown uni's like other artists work in clay, his true medium.

+1 on orange as our new primary. Let's own that color even more.

Yay for dawg and font.

Meh for helmet logo.

Boo for orange as primary. We're not the Bungals.

Id rather go with White as primary for jerseys before orange.

I like the new orange...and I really like the new dog pound...more vicious looking. IMHO

People love to talk tradition. White helmets and white jerseys are most representative of true winning tradition Browns colors.

If brown is gone, I will miss the brown shoulder to toe. It's our most bad-ass look.

I would prefer more burning of the orange in general (i.e. less pumpkin), but it ain't gonna happen.

I'm really nervous about the orange as the primary colour but I have maintained from the beginning that going crazy on the uniforms is okay. We would need a look that didn't confuse us with the bengals, IMO the move toward this new more vibrant orange makes me wonder if that will be more difficult to pull off...

Meh...Just win

This.

They can wear clown suits with pink tutu's for all I give a damn....just win.

On a serious note, Scheiner said the uniform changes will be more drastic than the logo - so I am excited to see what they've done...and the new color being added (most likely gray).

Gotta say, I don't see why off season attention to a uniform in late Feb takes away at all from desire or potential for winning. Not mutually exclusive and everyone agrees winning is more important than everything else. Pink is fine is it would mean winning.

I am surprised how much my 15 yr-old and his Browns friends like the new helmet and they're anxiously awaiting the new uni's. I thought they give the "same old boring Browns" routine regarding the new color of orange.

This is (somewhat) interesting. This account is a pretty good follow you those of you on Twitter.

Helmet is OK. Regarding the doggie- my Chihuahua laughed so hard when he saw it- he peed himself. Seriously- all the other guys at work (fans of other teams) think it's stupid and it sucks. I agree.

I don't really care what anyone thinks. Yes it wasn't a huge deal, people got duped into thinking it was going to be something drastic with the helmet/helmet logo. Doesn't make sense to me that people are upset over the helmet.

They did come out with the sideways helmet desing. Its on the Browns website in the slideshow. I really dig that one.. its my preffered one over the angled view.
