Heres another theory..

With Whitner supporting the "Oregon Ducks" of the NFL notion.. one thing the ducks do ALOT.. is metallic silver ON the Jerseys.

Lets go back to the Joe Haden Pro-Bowl Jersey form a year ago.. check out his glove

I can see something like that.. and orange jersey with brown numbers with some type of silver design or pattern..

The Oregon Ducks have the wings...

What if.. (since our mascot is a dog)

The Jerseys had some sort of SILVER design around the neck line of a choke chain or something to that effect.. they could make it look good..

This is what I found in the rule-book regarding the color of the football (brown):

Rule 5, Article 3, (g), on page 27

Items Colored Like Football
(g) Headgear or any other equipment or apparel which, in the opinion of the Referee, may confuse an
opponent because of its similarity in color to that of the game football. If such color is worn, it must be
broken by stripes or other patterns of sharply contrasting color or colors.

This is the only entry dealing with color....so from this I can only construe that the Browns cannot have brown pants UNLESS they have stripes or patterns within them.

I do believe that they could not have a brown helmet, and that pads and gloves cannot be brown...but the jersey and pants should be fine as long as they are not SOLID brown.
 
Yes Sir.. I posted that rule a while back in one of the old uni thread.. It was when the rumor originally started saying if the Browns update their Unis they will no longer be grandfathered in.
 
I think PGL is spot on it in his post with the pictures and the glove.

I think this is going to be rather radical and good looking...provided the Whitner Twitter post is straight up fact, no BS going on there.

I absolutely think, from everything that we 've seen, that the uniforms will appease the younger fans more.
More flash, "the Ducks" of the NFL as Whitner said.

Also, we 've changed the Dawg Pound Logo, because the management targeted the younger population.
Not to mention that we have 50 young men playing a game, and they wanna look good doing it(Joe Haden will dominate).

I honestly thing they will be state of the art, flashy dope uniforms.

It is an absolute disgrace that this idiot owner would get rid of our primary color ....a color we will now never be able to use again. Makes me want to hate the guy, honestly. Good ole boy from Tennessee comes in and ruins a unique traditional color that only we are allowed to use? Only in Cleveland. What a bunch of chumps we are.
 
Has anyone said that BROWN is out? I can't find it. I also can't find a rule that would preclude using it.
 
Im sure they will use brown.. without a doubt.. I just dont think we are going to see a plain all Brown Jersey/Uni combo. There will be a brown jersey but It will have orange/silver on it to "break up" the brown
 
I doubt they use brown as any idiot can see our historically superior running game has been aided by misdirection due to color confusion. There goes THAT section of the playbook!
