If you won’t be downtown next Tuesday night, the team’s website ClevelandBrowns.com will also be ready to take orders for the 3 new jerseys and other new merchandise the team will offer.

The Browns spent nearly 2 years working closely with the NFL and Nike on a whole new look for the team, which has seen just minor tweaks to the uniforms and helmet over the decades, and they don’t want it spoiled by a premature leak. It is anticipated that what will be unveiled next week will be a radical new look, hence the angst and excitement that is building with fans wanting to be first to reveal them or see them.

The “orange carpet” event will run from 6-8 p.m. with the Browns television partner, WEWS NewsChannel 5, broadcasting a 1-hour long special of the reveal from 7-8 p.m. at the Convention Center.

Thing is, if they make major changes...some (especially traditionalsists) will pan it. If they don't make much change...some (younger guys mainly) will pan it.

If they do anything (or nothing)...Nickers will pan it. banghead

Let it be the old-timers bitchin'.... that day is coming!

I bet when DawgFan read Whitner's take that they "look like the Oregon of the NFL" he flat-lined for a solid minute, and BrownsFan1956's pacemaker fried under the stress!

Let the Logo be the full-bodied Bullmastiff standing on Block-lettered "Cleveland Browns"
Let that be what we see for the graphic on Broadcasts.
And on our jerseys have just the Bullmastiff on the shoulders,
and Block "CLEVELAND" or "BROWNS" across the chest.

Perhaps a very small Bullmastiff on the back right of the helmet, so the Orange Helmet logo still rings true, as the side view remains the same image.

That's where we should go.

Let the old timers bitch away. Pretty sure I'm classified as an old timer. I'd rather have my kids like it than me.

I'm sure the orange helmets were bitched about in the 1950's when the Browns went away from white helmets.

I'm predicting a simple modernization, with the 9 combinations being the mix of brown, white, and orange jerseys and pants. At most, a little grey highlighting, but I'm betting there won't even be that.

I'd be stunned if gunmetal pants show up. Absolutely floored.

Well we pretty much know we're getting brown, orange and white tops, and there has to be white pants. The other two colors though, who knows.

1946 – In the team’s inaugural season, the Browns wore plain white helmets and sported white and brown jerseys with classy, shadow-boxed numbers. These jerseys were worn for only one season.

1947 – The Browns introduce what is now viewed as the “classic” Browns uniform.

1950 – The Browns introduced solid orange helmets for the first time as part of their uniform.

1953 – Orange uniforms are introduced for the first time when they don them for their home opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. They would appear again in exhibition games in 1954 and 1955 before being shelved for 47 years.

1957 – For three seasons, the Browns add brown jersey numbers to all of their helmets.

1960 – For one season only, the Browns add two brown stripes that flank the existing white center striped helmets along with the brown jersey numbers on the side.

1969 – A commemorative patch is added to the uniform to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the NFL. This is the first time that a patch of any kind is worn on the uniform.

1970 – Names are introduced to the back of all jerseys and remain a permanent fixture.

1975 – Orange pants are introduced for the first time and worn regularly. All facemasks on helmets are changed to white in color.

1984 – Jerseys are radically redesigned as solid orange pants are replaced by white pants that for the first time feature an orange center stripe outlined with brown stripes to go with solid orange or brown socks. Brown jerseys with orange numbers are worn for the preseason before being scrapped because the numbers proved to be too difficult for spotters to recognize during the game.

1985 – The team returns to the “classic” Browns look.

2002 – Orange jerseys make a return to the field for the Browns.

2003 – Orange center stripe returns to the pants for first time since 1984.

2008 – Solid brown pants are introduced for the first time.

2013 – The Browns sport a “brown out” version of their jersey for a Thursday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills at FirstEnergy Stadium, wearing their brown jersey with solid brown pants and socks for the first time in team history.

Gotta say, I like the "Brown out". It's bad-ass.

I really hope the shadowed numbers aren't part of it... just looks so awful. The rest I'd be happy with, but those numbers fail big time.

EDIT: Bit of a nitpicky note, but I think I would prefer a center orange stripe with two brown stripes on either side for the white uni. But again, nitpicking.

Yeah, they tie in with the faux "leaks" lately, tweaks on guesses from a long time ago. I like'em pretty well.

faux "leaks"

I gotta say, the list is underwhelming and quite lame....

what else can you say when the most exciting descriptions for "changes" involve either SOLID or STRIPED?

Cleveland's gotta literally GROW UP & put away childish ways.... or this shame will never change.
