I still love me some 3G man.. Even I get fired up after one of his speeches.. He's that old school father figure type I love so much... I see a little of that in Monken but maybe not as bombastic.
 
Getting Verse was huge as far as this trade evaluation goes. He was just ranked 35th in the top 100 players in the league. Denzel Ward didn’t even make the list.

Thought of another way, Verse is our only player who would 100% start for every other NFL team. Ward and Schwes would be the only other two candidates. Nobody on offense would.

So far I'm not impressed with Rutenburg... This scheme on defense looks terrible... Everyone looks like their out of position...The entire defense looks gassed out by the 2nd quarter... Somethings gotta give... I have a feeling this defense is gonna be handed over to Jason Tarver eventually as it should've been in the first place...
 
If Rutenburg didn't learn on Sunday that he needs to use more man coverage then it's going to be really bad and he'll be out after the season. Not that it's going to solve all the problems on D. A lot of it was Lawrence throwing darts through coverage that their WR's caught.

That opened up their run game.

We'll see if the D improves after a few more games. Part of it is they don't play in pre-season and these first couple games is their prep. Getting used to each other and all.
 
We ran a ton of zone and barely blitzed. Autistic-Rudy needs to fix this.
Flores in Minny blitzed on 77% of his pass plays. Gimme that.
Come on Rudy, more man coverage and more blitzing.
This "sit in zone, wait, and don't blitz" is as about as passive as it can get.
