Browns The new Rutenberg Defense

Rudy has found his groove lately.

A fully clicking passing offense comes to town and he held them back.

Carolina said there were confusing looks they hadn’t seen in film study.
Tyson Campbell out
Still did damn good.
AB’s chosen players thrive on Jim Schwartz style aggressive defensive calls.
Man to man.
The zone d from week 1 just ain’t us.

••••

Looking at just weeks 2 and 3, per @TruMediaSports

Browns second in pressure rate (46.2), t-4 in sacks (6), and t-5 in opponent average time to throw (3.1 sec).

• Q Williams and Graham both credited with 8 pressures, per PFF.
• McGuire and Verse with 7 apiece.

I hope we chew-up and spit out Rodgers

I forgot to mention that slot CB Myles Harden had another solid game. Could be he's getting comfortable with the Defense and we now have a very good trio of starting CB's once Campbell returns, not to mention safeties Hickman and Delpit.

It lends credence to not allowing a 300 yd passer for so long.

Isn't this quite a moment.

We lamented not getting Vrabel and McDaniels. Now, they're considered to be a broken and antiquated offense.
Monken, who elevated Weeden at OSU, three 400yard Fitzmagic games, gave Lamar his best season, and won with Stetson Bennett at UGA, is now squeezing everything out of Watson he can.

We lamented not keeping Schwartz. Rudy's defense is aggressive has hell. Keep pouting you didn't get the HC job Jimbo.

I thought the D "had" to take a step back. It was inevitable. Had to happen to a degree.
It's not the same D, and it's early, but damn did we bark, chew, and scrape our way through a aggressive game last night.
