Baker was getting pummeled early on.. not so much the past couple weeks. Multiple factors.. OL, Play calling, and baker himself improving at getting the ball out quickly. Oh..and Nick Chubb.

I think it's more accurate to say he's reading the defenses quicker and knowing where everyone is at, including the pass rushers who's goal it is to rip his head off, and moving away from said pressure. And he's had all kinds of time to find the open guy because of it. In effect it allows guys to get open. Although I will say he can get rid of the ball pretty quick when he has to as well.

A friend of mine was actually timing his throws.. He clocked his release at 2.5 secs

Yep, when your (bad) QB holds the ball too long, all of the "experts" want to blame the O-line and it's blocking. Yet, the elite QB's succeed with average O-lines all the time, because they have a low TTT and an OC who does more than 4-verts all the time.

Desmond Harrison may have elite feet, and so he won't get run around, but he did get ran over.
G-Rob isn't getting bull-rushed, and clearly, that's all Baker needs.

I still feel Dorsey brings in OT competition, as our LT run blocking isn't great (in fact it's kind of bad), but I hope he keeps Robinson around.

I'd be up for 3 years for 3 mil per for he and for Perriman. Both players will be URFA's, but neither should command much on the market.
 
This article makes a good point. Robison's forte is "he absorbs the bull rush". He's not great off the ball run-blocking, and isn't super fleet of foot vs a speed rusher. However, with Baker, this is working.

Also... 1 sack in the last 4 games. So reminiscent of how much better our OL became once we sent Charlie Frye packing.

The Browns OL is very good. Period. No reason to over analyze. When your rookie back is gaining yards and your rookie QB isn't getting hit, let alone sacked? When you've lead the league in yards per play the last five weeks?

Your line is good.
 
Baker getting comfortable in combinatiin with way better playcalling... makes for wonders.
Haley had superstars in pittsburgh, now yoy kmow where those yards come from. Not Haley but from Ben and that oline.

And to further illustrate the point, even Baker couldn't save Hue.

Interior pressure is an absolute QB killer and DCs are looking for DTs who can create havoc like that dude with horns on his helmet. Ogunjobi has done a really nice job of it for us but we're decidedly weak next to him. Ogbah hasn't been very good when he pushes inside.

DT and WR. Clearer than clear.

And yeah, our pass blocking on the interior is phenomenal. All three are ranked near the top of their positions in pass protection... and that's a very, very big deal.
 
In the month of December, the Browns have faced J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, Von Miller, & Bradley Chubb .... and allowed just 1 sack in those contests.

Corbett's a luxury for now but a very good and versatile one. He'll fill that "sixth man" slot for another year and Harrison will get some time to get bigger and smarter. It's a fantastic sitch.

Man, up to #2 in the NFL. Maybe we'll stop getting mocked OTs in the first two rounds? Or are we gonna keep believing it's a mirage? A consistently reoccurring mirage?

Me either. The only thing that makes the Corbett pick look good is the Chad Thomas pick. All picks good reasonable compared to that. Can't win them all, but still, taking Zeus Jr from Oklahoma made a ton more sense to me.
