Baker hasn’t or figured out hidden defensive scheme patterns
And yeah it might help if needs to leave the pocket go left.
The line we knew going in was our week spot this year and three weeks in we have had
way to many injuries.
Hope that they can all stay healthy and perform better than average
seems Baker needs another second to throw.
Against the Ravens on Sunday Baker should have the opportunity to

  • Kush - pre-Aaron Donald, he was over Zeitler
  • McCray - 31st, better than Conklin, Whitworth, Decker, and Villanueva

Hubbard - well, he's below avg. 54th.
Teller - well, he hasn't played yet as we all know, but another below average game by Kush, and it may be time. I'd love to see it. Kush is no Grecco.

Agree, the O-line is not stellar, but Baker (darn near) leading the league in holding on to the ball isn't helping them.

So, if the offense gets clicking, making G-Rob look even better ... is he a 40 mil / 4 year guy?

G-Rob hasn’t done anything to NOT get paid, honestly. He’s elevated to a solid, median LT starter, maybe a notch better than that. There are 64 starting OTs and he’s 17th? That’s better than good enough. He does his job.

Those three are set for me and I wouldn’t roll the dice on G-Rob getting upgraded, feels very much like a Schwartz situation. I do think Teller will be in for Kush fairly soon. If Hubbard can stay well, he’ll settle back in to being so-so instead of suck-ass, then we replace him in the offseason.

In addition to drafting an OT high, likely R1, we’ll get Forbes back and draft another for the pipeline in 4 or 5.

It’s not. Not until we lose our 10th game. Until then, my guess is 11-5. We’ll be 2-2 and in first place after Sunday.
 
Feet to the fire, I think that’s how the Browns would see it too, Ocon. You just don’t trade two picks (5 and 6) for a non-LT OL if you don’t really like the hell out of him. Keep in mind that Forbes was a 5 and good OL come in those rounds on an annual basis. He’s gonna be playing.

Tretter’s play and Campen make me think he’s close to a lock. I personally think flipping Robinson is super risky but there will be some tug of war over his value. But ideally we don’t create a bunch of turnover, just upgrade the right side with Teller and a high pick (for a RT, late 1st would be great, feel free to trade up).

Kush would be a high-end swingman on the interior. Forbes could become that at OT... unless he IS the starting RT.

I feel like Adam Sandler in “Anger Management”: “Sir, please calm down.” Me: “Do you think I’m losing my shit or something? Truly not.”

All good. Just not discussing top 10 draft picks for next April while we’re trying to take over 1st place in a couple hours.

Garofolo says we’re actively looking to acquire another tackle. It’s hard, teams are loath to part with developing OT talent... but I’m 100% supportive of Dorsey realizing the window is open now and this talent is gonna come around on offense (we’re already elite on defense). This year is real and I don’t have an issue with overpaying, like a 2nd rounder, for a tackle like that Eagles dude.

Really tough to say no to a 2nd round pick.
 
I’m starting to believe Trent Williams just becomes too hand/glove to not get a little real between now and the trade deadline. Reminds me, again, of the Rams.

Yeah, he’s 31 but he’s an elite LT. You look at him starting for you in 2019 (after he’s acclimated) and then three more seasons on a new deal. I’d trade a first for that kind of stability. It’s what we’ll be doing with that pick anyway, just wouldn’t be “right now” or certain.

Then (again, like the Rams), you continue to draft and develop, which allows you to take guys who could be better than guys drafted ahead of them... but in a couple years.
 
Any deal has to be favorable for both teams. T Williams for a 2nd is too much. He's been hurt and has to be re-signed after next year I believe.

Also he had a high left ankle sprain and has not had surgery and he was supposed to be at 325 lbs, but was at 345 lbs.
 
Good timing, Jay: As I've been blathering about for four games, when our starting line is there, it's just fine. Showed up again today. Good at pass pro, good in the run game. They were just good.

I'd like to know the PFF grade when those five play together. Top five, I think.
 
They were together for our first (amazing) drive of the season, then it's been off and on until today. We're just not bad on the OL when it's our starting five... and Teller is still waiting to get in. I think he'll upgrade RG even though Kush has been fair to middling (too many holding calls).

Didn't hear any holds on Robinson, didn't see any sacks. I think he's pitching a shutout for the whole season.

Agree, Jay: We'll be upgrading at RT. Question is whether we do it in season or after. Seems that Dorsey is turning over every stone, as usual.
 
Everyone but Hubbard should grade well, but only due to a couple of early blown assignments. He settled in after that.

Wasn’t Baltimore’s o-line highly regarded?
 
Now that I've read Jake's film stuff... it was a near perfect OL performance. Massive holes for Chubb and ZERO hits on Baker, 1 sack... from the team 3rd in the league in hitting the QB and one of the best against the run.

These are good players, across the board. Hubbard was considered a huge signing, stealing a serious up and comer from a rival. Kush had a really good year in Chicago in 2018, legit starter.

Robinson is just killing it. Need to extend him and Tretter yesterday. I'm watching Hubbard... but man, when he's in there, everything looks a lot better. Losing the swing, Lamm, made it rough, had to play a guard at RT.

Right now, you wouldn't change a damn thing about the OL. Nada.
