The Offensive Line

Oline is based on continuity,
It’s like being in the trenches in war,you want to know the guy left or right of you has your back.
Can’t trade for that mid season.
I don’t see it,we need veteran help for sure but we made our roster this year, RB’s WR’s
can be plugged in not lineman that takes time.

Can’t trade for that mid season.

Its not an opinion though
JD is actively (reportedly) trying to make a deal for a tackle
before the trade deadline
disagree with the move?

also strong rumours (Im hearin it everywhere) there is an o-line shake up
so we are changing mid-season regardless IF it pans out to be true or not

do not like this deal at all
this is starting to look desperate
Its not like the line crumbled in the last game?
I guess deadline.
kind of proof the o-line was an after thought
for season 2019

Hmmm, how 'bout...

LT - soon to be signed player
LG - Bitonio
C - Tretter (sign him, btw!)
RG - Teller
RT - Forbes

He was a college tackle and the team said today he can definitely play there. He was a four-year starter at LT, I believe... so RT in the league might be ideal for him. Freak-ass athlete.

Dorsey is making a trade. Just a matter of which one. I wouldn't get too down on Solder, he was a really good player for the Patriots. I never believe in the light-switch theory of talent, like it can just turn off and that's all she wrote.

It's on Campen. If he thinks Solder is a long-term starting LT, go for it. If he thinks Vaitai is a long-term starting LT, go for it.

But Trent Williams would lock down that left side for 3 or 4 years, better than anybody else this side of Joe Thomas at 30.

Nate Solder was the beneficiary of one of the quickest TTT QB's in the history of the game. Brady makes shit OL players look good. Solder isn't 'shit', but he isn't a big upgrade IMHO. I would actually prefer moving Bitonio out to LT, sliding McCray into LG, Teller at RG, and giving this Forbes kid a shot at RT. Trouble is, they would have to learn each other quickly.

May be easier to put McCray at LT, and put Forbes out at RT. Leave the inside guys alone for now, but substitute liberally until Teller takes over at RG.

I personally think Teller is going to start at RG beginning Sunday but they're keeping it under wraps.

Brugler likes Forbes, says he'll be in the mix soon. Had him slated for R4, high for a small school guy. Kid has a lot of fans.

On Solder: When you're only trading a 4th or so, it's like the draft all over again. What do Campen and company think of him as a prospect moving forward? Does he fit what they're doing? Do they think he can become a solid starting LT?

If you can't answer yes, don't bother. And he'd have to renegotiate, I'd think. Can't imagine paying him like a superstar.

Dorsey wants Trent. Usually gets what he wants. He's targeting the right guy.

Nuggets from my favorite film dude:

- Yes, Kush is clearly the weakest link and will be replaced by Teller when the latter has the mental side down. Struggled a little with that in Buffalo before putting up great tape, could be there now... nobody really knows. But it's imminent and he is a clear upgrade.

- Yes, Hubbard is the next weakest link, very inconsistent game to game and play to play. And yes, he thinks it makes more sense to replace HIM with Lamm.

- I'm honestly extrapolating here, but I get the sense that Robinson still has his starting job.

Forbes is a RG candidate. I don't see anyway he's tossed out there at tackle, mid season, to start his career.

Agreed. Big leap to make, coming from lesser competition at LT in college, to missing extended time with an injury, to being thrust in at RT.

And that's coming in to a stretch against the Patriots' assorted pass rushers then Von fucking Miller.

I'm with Shep (I think Shep said it somewhere) that Forbes seems more like a new year kind of guy.

G-Rob “not around the locker room all week” per Grossi. I suppose that means he’s going to practice and going straight home, where he would normally hang out with teammates.

Either it’s nothing, or part of the Robinson “something is going on with him” dialogue. Maybe pouting.

So Robinson made it official, says he's benched. Most think McCray is starting there... which is decidedly weird.

Only answer: It's gonna rain and the Browns wanna run all day long. He's a very good run blocker. I don't know, I'm kinda confused by this one.

Another answer: Robinson is part of the trade package?

I’ve seen it before reading up on the Browns and when it comes to G Rob it was never about talent it was about his
attitude and the way he carries himself.
He has done an average job at his position
and if what I have read is true benching him over “not buying in”or whatever is going on in his head could be seen as detrimental to his line men he communicates with in the trenches.
Just a take on why he is being put on ice
