The Offensive Line

Reportedly, two vet OL-men have expressed to the OBR that new OL coach Mike Bloomgren and assistant Ben Wilkerson are 'LIGHT' years ahead in theory, scheme, coaching, and communication skills, than the previous OL coaches.

After week 1 ...

29. Cleveland Browns (Down 2)

Projected Week 2 starters:
LT Dawand Jones
LG Joel Bitonio
C Ethan Pocic
RG Wyatt Teller
RT Jack Conklin

Right tackle Jack Conklin left Week 1’s game with the Bengals after just 20 snaps due to an injury. He was replaced at right tackle by Cornelius Lucas, who earned a 55.5 PFF overall grade.

Cleveland's offensive line struggled in pass protection in the team's loss, allowing a league-high 20 pressures on 48 pass plays. The unit's resulting 78.1 PFF pass-blocking efficiency rating ranked 31st in Week 1.

Best player: Joel Bitonio
Bitonio’s 81.2 PFF overall grade led the Browns' offensive linemen in Week 1.

We're top 10 for spending on the OLine and we're still paying Jedrick Wills 4.9 mil this year. He's off the books after (2025) this year.
It's only one game. It's early.

I think he is over 11M in dead cap from CLE restructuring his 5th year option that they picked up, in order to free up cap space last year

It's been this way for a couple of years. Bitonio & Teller are good. The rest are average at best. Combined with no RB and no true starting QB and you get an offense that struggles to score 17 points/game.
