Todd Monken served as Georgia's offensive coordinator from 2020 to 2022 under head coach Kirby Smart. During that time, Carson Beck was a quarterback on the roster (he arrived in 2020, redshirted, and saw limited action as a backup to Stetson Bennett in 2021 and 2022). Monken helped develop the offense that won national championships in 2021 and 2022, and he spoke highly of Beck's potential—calling him a likely first-round NFL pick and noting signs of Beck "taking off" as a player. Monken even considered staying at Georgia partly because of the promising outlook with Beck stepping into a bigger role, before heading to the Ravens.
