I'm familiar with Managed Care from work .... it's a nightmare. The only person I've seen call it out as AOC. From work experience they deny patients care when they need it and are a nightmare to deal with. From the providers point of view they make it difficult to get paid and even request medical reviews looking and taking money back for bogus reasons. A long story short these companies do whatever the fuck they want to. They are too big and powerful.
She's a bit on the progressive side for me.... but I do find her good looking and seemingly authentic so I can at least respect where she comes from versus the rest of the Democratic Party.
That being said..... the rise of these companies and these plans largely comes due to the Affordable Care act or Obamacare. You know forcing everybody to get health insurance and penalizing people for not having it. All that really did was give companies more power to do whatever they are going to do. That's why health insurance is a total shit show now. Medicare- by the government is way over regulated while Managed Care by private companies is way under regulated. Managed Care was always around but this is where the whole use of expanding these models started me thinks.
Yet most Dems still think ACA or Obamacare was the greatest thing since sliced bread..... and calling out Obama for the elitist ass hole he is just gets you called a racist by them.
As long as congressmen get 100% total healthcare coverage for themselves & their families for the rest of their lives they will not make any changes that benefit We the People. Forcing people to buy anything is a loser and that's what that act does.
My experience with United Healthcare was total BS. They denied coverage until could prove that when I got stitches it wasn't work related. After that they denied me because they claimed I was in a car accident and motor insurance would cover it. I was pissed that they just make shit up to deny coverage. Turns out many others had the exact same issues with United and their coverage was dropped after one year due to all of us complaining. (And they wonder why people applauded that kid assassinating the CEO as if the people they covered would somehow have their backs?)
GTFO!
I have UHC ... It's their P2P policy that holds crap up... It's a huge disservice to their clients/patients... Patients doctors now need to get an "Okay" from one their DEI doctors before they can treat you for any major surgical procedure.. Then make it amost impossible to get the Rx's and medical equipment you need.. You have to go through one big song and a dance... I'm gonna dump them soon as I can get a better conprehensive plan...Yeah from the provider's perspective it's just as bad. Claims being denied because a facility's NPI number on a third party company that created the authorization doesn't match for example. Or one diagnosis code is off. Then re-submitting the claims they get denied as duplicates. Then you can appeal but only have a limited amount of time to do so and then again that has it's own bureaucratic B.S.
I mean at work it's not my money but becomes bad debt that needs to be explained.
I'll give credit where credit's due regardless of background or what not..... AOC was right in that sense that these companies largely operate as a scam. Ditto me liking Majorie Greene calling out support for Israel or the ultra liberal CNN even calling out all this anti male crap the Dems offered up last election.
Yeah I really can't blame people for not even bothering with insurance anymore.I have UHC ... It's their P2P policy that holds crap up... It's a huge disservice to their clients/patients...
