Browns Training Camp 2026

OconRecon

If you're juiceless, you're useless
Might as well get a fresh thread going for X clips and chatter.
  • Players reported yesterday (Tuesday)
  • First full squad practice is today
  • Maliek Collins is the only player on PUP so everyone else should be on the field.
  • Starting today, the Browns have 10 practices in 11 days
  • Many more open practices this year than last for the fans (no trip to Greenbrier helps this)
  • The press has access every day
  • Browns had no try-outs this week
  • Looks like camp is sponsored by Gregory Industries. Thank god, not Dude Wipes.

Open practice schedule for fan attendance:
  • Friday, July 31 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Summer Kickoff
  • Saturday, August 1 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Back Together Weekend
  • Tuesday, August 4 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Superhero Day
  • Wednesday, August 5 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Military Appreciation
  • Thursday, August 6 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Stay In The Game!
  • Friday, August 7 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Youth Football
  • Saturday, August 8 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Jr. Browns Backers
  • Tuesday, August 11 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – Brown & Orange
  • Wednesday, August 12 – 1:30 p.m. (gates 12:30 p.m.) – University Hospitals Rainbow Day

Things to watch:
  • The QB's, of course
  • The OL make-up
  • The WR reps
  • Can the Toledo rookie bump Harrison out of the way?
  • Two new rookie TE's. Still weird to me, but hey, let's see.
  • V8's positive energy, natural leadership, and charisma.
  • Schwes and Williams chemistry

17 more games with Watson. Then we can trade him, cut him or show him the door.

I think they'd like to increase his value as would I, before we get to that point though. That would be optimal.

First day studs and duds

Studs
Dawand Jones started at LT, and physically looks great
Sanders had a high completion % day, stayed after to tutor Taylon Green
Ward and Delpit got paid
Damarri Mathis' INT
Michel Coats Jr, a DB they really like
Sampson and Judkins look fresh
Clowney (not on team yet) is interested because the likes Monken, and the "let's make sure Myles is happy" stuff is gone

Duds
Watson starts with a wonky day
Ced Tillman - ran with the 3's
The offense
Damarri Mathis' injury (severity is pending)

Notes
EMA worked with the starting LB's some. They like him despite being undersized.
EMW lined up at free safety when in there

==========

Bucky Sanders (aka Deion Jr) with some nice camp footage. I'll say it again, Sanders looks trim and fit vs last year

Day 2

Watson with a better day
Sanders operates slower than Watson does, as far as breaking the huddle goes
Gabriel had a good day
Hall and Graham were a pain in the ass for the offense
No INT's today
No TD's today
Zegura seems to have converted from pro-Sanders to pro-Watson.
Sanders settled as the day went on though
No known injuries
Fano looked good vs V8
Judkins continues to have great burst
KC (separation) and Boston (size and hands) looked good
The defense looks very comfortable

Pads this week starting today. Finally.
Will be interesting to see what excuses there are for Watson this week. Last week was "there are no pads and INT's don't matter", even though MKC tried to declare him the winner in shorts this past spring.

Other than the QB's, the things to watch for me are:
  • Fano - time to move him to LT1?
  • KT Leveston - is he going to continue to get reps as RG1?
  • Elgton Jenkins - our only probowl lineman, who is a better guard, is still at center
  • Dawand Jones - Zegura spitballing moving him to guard. We gonna start 4 guards or something?
  • KC and Boston - sure seems like it's time to get them in a regular rotation with Bond and Jeudy w/ the 1st team
  • DL vs OL - the OL no longer has excuses. The pads are on.
  • Harrison vs EMW - who gets more starter reps. I really like our safety room. Tall, rangy, athletic.
  • Joe Royer - our rookie 5th round TE ... where the heck has he been? I know they're saying "personal reasons". He must have some real shit going on. It's not like, as a Saturday pick, he's a roster-lock. He did tailspin in college for about a year after his mom died. Depression stuff. Maybe it's something in that realm.
