So McVay is all in with Ty. we've seen this play out with Green Bay a couple of times. Reid in KC. then not so well with the 49ers and Trey Lance. then Jimmy Garoppolo and the Pats.

Now we wait and see how it plays out. surely lots of fun the past few days.

The Browns weren’t ignoring the position in the draft so much as understanding the value of the draft relative to their evaluations and expectations of the board. Particularly after the Rams selected Ty Simpson 13th overall (and Haslam exclaimed to a surprised draft room, “Andrew knew that a week ago!”)
 
It kind of makes sense for the Rams. Seriously doubt that team, without a trade, has a top 25 pick next draft. So if Stafford retires after this season, how are they going to get a decent prospect for his replacement? I'm not high on Simpson, but I don't discount McVay's opinion.
 
Football Wise McVay is in a very small class. he builds the house that windows go into. these types are so good they can fall into a Trey Lance pile and land in Brock Purdy.

Was Jimmy serious or poking at AB ?
