Browns Watson vs Sanders for QB1

It's the Browns: anything is possible. ;)

Very true.

And for the record, I really don't care who wins the starting job. I want the QB who gives us the best chance to win football games to start and play this season. I know Monken wants the same... and he is a QB guru... so I trust his judgement and reasoning on whoever he starts.
Just win football games.... period.

I just don't understand the folks who are just dismissing Watson or would rather the Browns lose than start Watson.... or just lose in general to maybe get a QB we want who might be good in the 2027. The best case scenario is that either Watson or Sanders turns out ot be a stud this season and we can use our 2027 assets on elite players at other positions with higher hit rates. Wouldn't be really cool for Sanders to be a stud this year and the Brown move up and get Jeremiah Smith to go with Conception and Boston? Wouldn't it be cool for Watson to look like his old self, move up and draft Smith next year... and go to a Super Bowl in 2029?

Folks just have so much PTSD and Watson derangement syndrome, that they would rather the Browns lose than win. They would rather the asset they current have not be good... and roll dice on an unknown. It's mind boggling.

I'm pulling for Sanders because he would be a better long-term solution - in my opinion. I don't think there's such a thing as Watson Derangement Syndrome. His pitiful play and complete lack of buying in and becoming a leader are what caused people to dislike him. He could turn it around if he plays great. But the animosity from the fans toward Watson is earned.

Daryl Ruiter saying this morning there has been a fair number of "oh, there's the bad Deshawn" moments thus far.
If Watson gives us a better chance to win this year, then he should have pulled away clearly by now as he's the vet.

DW has been a brown for over 3 years now, he's not very good healthy.long term starter? no.
before DW got paid he missed 1 NFL game the previous 3 seasons. huh?
when the season starts he's 31.he played in 19 games over 3 seasons.for him to start 17 games?
forget it.even If he was named starter game 1.NFLong..monken would start his nana
If she could stop the run.gotta win 7+ to secure your job monk.not ideal conditions.
even with our BS schedule 7+ wont be easy. AFCN.Its hard ground.
nana can you play DT sunday?

I'm a Watson fan so I'm pulling for him. And if he's named the starter despite all his injuries and baggage he's had that just tells me Sanders isn't and won't be the guy.

You could argue that Sanders didn't get a fair shot at the beginning of last year but he's getting one now and he needs to step up. I have no idea if Monken's praise is legit or just lip service for the time being. Gotta find out fast. I'd like a starter established and put to work.
I don't know how anyone could say Sanders didn't have a fair shot last year. He played pretty well considering our offensive talent deficit. And the timing worked for him in regard to prep before starting.

after that draft. whats "fair" for sanders really? thats why his sales are record setting.
people like me want to see him in camp with the 1's as starter trained up,
gunned up & phy'd up to win FB games as a NFL starting QB. & a big FU to the other 31 owners!
I never liked mel kiper, until now.IMO he's already been vindicated by sanders play.100% lets spike it!
to throw a rookie out there & have him play as well as he did? (stats don't reflect)
This is the vibe I want (not a new clip).
I love the loaded "shedeur as QB1" question.didnt love "lots of guys" part.WIP.

Here Jr's video stuff. Pretty good. He shows Watson too. Last 30 seconds of brother interaction is lighthearted fun. Sanders is clearly in better shape this year too.

They looked about the same to me. And, my 2cents, is if they look close, roll with the ascending player in Sanders.
