Browns Game Thread Week 5 Oct.11 Browns @ Jets 1PM on CBS

NDneighbor

Been here from the beginning.
Jets favored by 2.5
Browns have been winning by 3 or 4
The odds haven't meant much this season.
Practically no one is missing Garrett any more.
Bonehead penalties need cleaning up in the worst way.
Graham might miss this one.
The TV coverage maps should be up on Wed. the 7th:

Man.. no matter how bad the Jets are they always seem to kick our ass. The Jets were pathetic against the Bears yesterday, possessing the ball a measly 17:15 to the bears 42:45.. You have work really hard to possess the ball that little. We are just 3-7 VS the Jets in the last 10 meetings.. and from the best of my memory..what we've been seeing; flag flag flag flag... penalties have lost multiple games against the Jets for us. A lot of mental mistakes... yeah we can make excuses about having a young team but even a rookie has likely been playing football for at least a dozen or more years. It's a game we SHOULD win and need to win. The Bears ran the ball up the Jet's arse... 232 yards rushing. Judkins should be drooling along with the OL... I also am astounded how fast the talking heads in the football world are jumping on the Browns bandwagon. Sorry guys, but this team has a LONG way to go to be a good football team..but we are finding ways to win..that's Monken..... He was the afterthought coach... but you know.. even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.. Monken may just be our nut. I really want to have a first place showdown with Baltimore in 2 weeks... but first things first.. those damned Jets. I really like what we are building.

Every team in the NFL looks at the Browns as an easy win. Even the Jets.
Play smart, fast & physical. Eliminate the ME's and we'll be ok. Do not take the Jets for granted. (Not granite).

I'm not saying this should be an easy win, not at all, every game is tough, especially for the Browns. Cleveland is rolling atm, and I think that helps. But what would REALLY help, is the penalties have got to STOP. We're not gonna go from 51 penalties (43 accepted) in the first 4 weeks to a clean sheet, but we have just got to do better, especially pre-snap (21).

Killing drives with penalties is costing us leverage and pressure against opposing teams. Might not have needed 3 game winning drives.
