Browns Game Thread Week 5 Oct.11 Browns @ Jets 1PM on CBS

Our OL is grading quite a bit better than I thought they would.

I will say, when I picture Watson dropping back to pass, I envision him going back, getting nervous feet, and advancing to the scramble part of the play asap.
Seems like he is soooo far away from the vet who drops, plants, and throws.
Year 5 of knocking the rust off. Yay.

No, it's not all on him for sure, but in the end, he's had a few drives at the right time to get us to a 3-2 record.
Have no idea if Sanders would be any better.

Watson is just a very poor band-aid at this point... If I were Monk... I would be planning a time to intergrate Sanders soon to see what he can do... I'm not satisfied with last years sample size.. I'm not saying he's the guy for the future... I just want an absolute look at him... Is he a back up , etc.. Is Taylen Green worth developing.... These are questions that need to addressed and answered...

Watson sucks. No, he's not to blame entirely for the loss.
But 45% completion rate for 150 ain't great.
300-yard game Watson isn't coming back. It never was. Rainy game or not.
Monken can "Stetson Bennett" him for a bit, but we aren't going anywhere with him.
And sure, he's had some drops in the Jets game, but the 5% drop rate on the season is the best he's been given.
Plus you can give him the dropped completions and not give him the 4-5 would-be dropped INT's on the season.

Here's an idea 4, when it's fourth and whatever, and the last play of the game, at least THROW the ball.
Just a thought.

He's like the 35th ranked passer in the league, and this is the "he's playing well" version.
He's pieced together a few drives to win games, which I'm not discounting, but those drives saved his ass. The rest of the game, he was mid at best.

He won't be back next year.
(and if we go deep in the playoffs with him and resign him, it'll be the sweetest crow I've ever eaten, and I'll do it happily).

Again, he's in a big damn hurry to evacuate the pocket.
So would have any other QB. Hard to judge Watson. If you blame Watson for the sacks, are you going to blame Judkins for the lack of holes to run through? PFF always grades the Browns' offensive line play higher than it should be. I don't know if Sanders would be better than Watson, but I've seen enough Watson to know he's not going to be a great NFL QB again, or even a top-half NFL QB. I want to see what Sanders can do. But I'm patient. It's a long season and we should win quite a few games given our schedule, if the O-line doesn't completely collapse like Sunday. We need to put this one behind us and move on the Ravens. I absolutely hate seeing Watson playing QB for the Browns. But, as a Browns fan, I'm used to the pain.

100% there with you.

Sanders being the-guy, meaning we don't draft a QB, is a long shot.
Watson being the-guy, meaning we don't draft a QB, AND, we extend him, is a mega long shot.

Sanders will very likely play this season. I'm cool to be patient too. Like ya said, as Browns fans, it's either be patient, or go fly a kite.
