Browns Game Thread Week 9 Nov.8 Browns @ Saints 1PM CBS

NDneighbor

Been here from the beginning.
Saints favored by 3
So the Browns split the pair with PIT this season.
According to the Fox page linked below;
"The Saints have a 0 passer rating pinned deep for the 2026 regular season, good for lowest in the NFL."
So . . . Bojo and his leg might figure prominently in this one.
After this the Browns are at home for a 5 week stretch with:
Texans, the Bye on the 22nd, Raiders, Bungles, and Falcons.
The TV coverage maps should be up on Wed. the 4th:

I've noticed a decline in Boston's productivity. I'm not sure if it's bad QB play. Bad OLine play. A lack of a run game. Or some combination of everything including the offensive game plan.

There's a lot of crap to choose from to include Boston himself just not being good.

It's called being a rookie and hitting a wall.. He'll break out of it sooner or later...

Will be interesting if the Browns offense is able to move in the 1st Quarter. May be there is a very simple reason this 'improved' OL just can't seem to block for pass or run...maybe...maybe....it is the person who touches the ball every play.

I have not watched every game this year (live in Florida), but what I have seen is this:

The offensive line is struggling against stacked defenses and heavy defensive fronts. Teams are dropping an extra defender into the box because they don't respect Deshaun Watson, exposing the OL.

Because Watson typically takes deep 5- to 9-step drops and holds onto the ball too long, he is contributing to the protection breakdowns. When the pocket breaks down against stacked fronts, Watson bails early, making it nearly impossible for the OL to sustain their blocks.

In my personal opinion, this is the root cause of the offensive struggles. Watson is a liability. I am not sold on Sanders, but he may be an improvement.

shotgun drops & OL. Its not the players. It's coaching.
run schemes look easy. It's not. our OFF coaching is terrible. the penalties?
monk didn't care about scoring at the end vs PITT or did he forget the burnt TO?
either way incompetent.

It's how to beat any team that doesn't have decent QB play.

Stuff the run and force the underwhelming QB to win the game.

Watson can be good enough but it's not consistent and he's only showed flashes he can be moderately good. He's made some top notch throws but he's taking crazy deep drop backs and holding onto the ball too long.

the ball out on time and accurately.

I'm fine with sitting Watson. Symptoms appeared later so I keep him out. Seems like a great opportunity for Sanders but if he blows I don't want excuses. He's been here long enough. He knows the plays. I'm sure he's kept himself ready so turn him loose.
