I don't buy that there is a straight line to the OBJ fiasco determining that we can't sign a FA WR. It no doubt affects the cost and impacts the salary cap, but there are stats that support KS' offense willing to throw the ball and be effective doing it. Most of it the last half of KS' first season and when BM was healthy the first couple of games last season.
The FO could sell a potential FA WR on the fact that he would garner most all of the targets and have a very good chance of piling up personal stats, YPC, YAC and Pro Bowl(s), while helping the team improve its passing game. And to be a mentor to the WR's already here and any additions added in the draft.
That seems to me a reasonable way of selling it.
I agree on Jarvis. He can walk if he chooses to, but he's not worth 15 mil right now and I'm sure he realizes that.
What do you think is a fair compensation for Jarvis and the Browns? I'm thinking 8 to 10 million depending on incentives which I would make it an incentive laden contract so that he can add to it.
