I know from way too much board experience that personal attacks never go anywhere good and shit spirals out of control at warp speed, so it's worth losing a little "freedom" to just make it a no-no. I've never understood determined fatalism where literally every post is about how much your team sucks in every conceivable way and does everything wrong. It just sounds like the worst hobby ever.

And Jay, I'm definitely in it for the fun. I've had a great time on trips to see the Browns and meet other fans, spent time with my kids... and saw the Browns lose. But they couldn't take the fun back. Same for my draft excitement. The excitement happened. I enjoyed it. I had fun. If the draft pick goes on to suck, the gods can't retroactively delete the joy I took from draft season.

Hell of a post Shep. Interesting too since we've had our share of bullshit discussion that probably wasn't the most productive either way. Never doubted your broad dedication to your fandom, however. :) Your post resonated because I've experienced my 40+ years of fandom in the same vein. Wonderful memories with some of my best people (family and great friends). Excitement before each and every game; even the late season stinkers when we have nothing left to play for. Excitement before, during, and after every draft. Talking with my eternally "glass may look empty, but its really full" Dad from whom I inherited this virus. And most recently? The emergence of the next generation of fans in my oldest son who's got the bug REAL bad at the ripe, YOUNG age of 14.

Wouldn't change a thing. Well, I'd love to have won a Super Bowl (or to have been in one), but our lack of that type of success hasn't tainted what this wonderful addiction has done for me.

I'll go ahead and pre-emp the "predict the record" thread for this upcoming year: we're going 10-6 and to the AFC championship game. (Just not sure yet if we have enough to advance from there. ;) )
 
Eh, Grey, that was just collateral damage from the unabated gang-fighting going on at the time. In therapy speak, we'd say nobody was being his/her "best self" (!). I just made myself puke a little.

Yeah, I get asked if it's hard or painful to be a Browns fan and I always say it's always been a blast and a very big part of my life. I think if I sucked if would bother me... but I'm actually awesome at my part of the equation (being a faithful fan no matter what), as are so many. And I think in some weird way that's part of the fun of it all.

Being a Patriots fan seems kind of meh to me. Seriously.
 
Ever notice how annoying Steelers, Patriots, Cowboys fans are? They have a way of whining about winning. Every week this year some guy called into Sirius NFL and wanted to fire both the OC and DC of the Steelers...and then when they won he would call in and say..."see, they listened to me!"

Man I hope when the Browns "wreck this league" we all don't go that route.
 
Is anyone else amazed that they haven't been leaked yet.. you'd think some hacker could have obtained photos from nike/browns servers by now.. or someone with a cell phone could've snapped a quick pic
 
I think it's rational to assume there have been no leaks simply because the new uniforms are so breathtakingly brilliant that no one man is willing to ruin their deserved unveiling just to stick a few pictures on reddit. They possess such power that those who come in to contact treat them with the respect and integrity they thoroughly deserve.

Maybe they are comparable to the Ark of the Covenant from Indiana Jones.

If you gaze upon them before the set date... your face melts off.
 
In this day and age.. everything leaks.. seriously. . Like everything. The fact that players.. photographers.. Ppl in the browns org.. Nike folks.. etc have seen the unis and there's no leaks...

It's actually incredible
 
I hope they are legit. I am buying one...haden whitner gipson or a draft pick depending who we get.

I got manziel white jersey. I want an orange haden jersey or white todd gurley

I would love if the new uniforms gave us an edge on the field. I'm hoping for something that really pops.
