Anthony Schwartz made a mistake on the route. He copped an earful from Stefanski when he came off the field as a result. That interception wasn't on Mayfield. He made the right read, and the rookie made a mistake. Which, to be fair, it was his second game. Not the end of the world but the concequences were far greater than expected.

And, look, I get it. Quarterbacks shouldn't be making tackles. But I bet every cent I have that people would crucify Baker if he let someone run in a pick six because he didn't try to make a tackle. He's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
 
ok 1st of all,he threw the ball directly to the defender.it was a powerful throw and so the safety barely had to move to catch that ball.theres no way schwartz could have saved that play.even If he had stopped and turned it still whizzes by him. I'll give you credit, you're strong in your convictions, but you ultimately just highlighted that you can't be objective about this. You're so desperate to pin everything on Baker that you'll do so even when it's not his fault.

I don't think (Lee Harvey?) Oswald did it. But I wouldn't be shocked if you blame Mayfield for that too.

That's a really weak criticism. It isn't an exotic contortion to point out the obvious which everyone else saw. Again, you just blame Baker for everything. It is what it is, but don't take it out of me.

Funny, but keep in mind it was written before the MRI revealed the extent of the damage. At that point, it was suspected to have just been a dislocated shoulder - Baker came back in and finished off a fantastic game to seal the W.

At that point, nobody knew just how costly that mistake had been.
 
I did write a 2 page essay disputing the INT but then I realised,does 1 INT really matter that much? do you really wanna die on this hill over 1 INT? no,so I deleted it and just left the 1st line.Its insignificant TBH.
put yourself in landrys shoes for a moment.now he has to justify his stats and the 15 million over the staffs decision to play baker hurt.imagine a co-worker of yours didnt put down the lottery numbers right and all your coworkers missed out on a 10 million dollar jackpot? how friendly are we going to be to duncan from then on? duncan might have to find a new job and we're not debating whose responsibility it was he got hurt.Its how landry feels about it.Its how the whole LR felt about it.
baker never apologised or accepted he made a crucial season ending mistake at all.he'd be walking through the LR with his head high like nothing happened.that would drive me nuts.thats what a real leader would have done.Its what I would have done.sometimes a little contrition goes a long way.we dont see that from the cocky QB.now juice is prolly walking too.I would.
 
OBJ should have been a pro and waited until the season was over.Im sure thats what juice said to him.
he has plausible deniability I guess he can just blame his daddy.the tweets are a lie,hes just worried about his reputation going forward.not the kind of player Id want on my team thats for sure.we're all better off.I hope they loose.
 
Some of the local Browns reporters were complaining that when OBJ was on the podium the local media was cut off from asking him questions. They wanted to ask him about his thoughts on how and why he left the Browns in the middle of the season. Apparently the NFL media machine saw it coming a mile away and only wanted happy warm and fuzzy softballs. So they were censored faster than a Dem can say, "WHITE SUPREMIST!!".
 
Seems the NFL was sure to bash the Browns even after they all they did for OBJ. They could've been a bunch of dicks and just let him sit at home the rest of the year, but they negotiated his release and were professional about it because they didn't have to do that. They had options that would have really screwed OBJ over if they chose to do so.
