He turned Brandon Weeden into a Heisman candidate and 2nd in the nation in passing at Oklahoma State. Then he took 3 scrubs who ended up having to play QB by committee due to injuries the following year and finished 3rd in the nation in passing.

I live in Atlanta. I can't say enough about the job he did with scrubby Stenson Bennett. Just unbelievable.

He knows how to get production from the QB - and I am excited to see what he does with Sanders. It would also be interesting if he had a QB with Lamar's skillset on the roster...oh, wait.....

This guys is Udinski or Scheelhaase in 20 years. He is as innovative as any OC in the country... and has been successful at every single stop. His staff is shaping up nicely. Will be interesting to see what happens on defense. But if Schwartz decides to bolt... he's showing you he has pull with solid experienced coaches. We will be fine.

Yeah, I admit I was uneducated on the guy. He seems like a good hire based on what I'm reading on here and other sources.

Seriously though QCT has good insight especially regarding the college game and the SEC. I don't follow the SEC. Just the Buckeyes and some of the BIG 10.

And I'll ask questions of good men like you will and others. It's what keeps everyone sharp.

Anyway, I'll give Monken a chance. My initial reaction was we booted KS for Monken? It just didn't look good. But I've bought into the current Monken media hype prior to his introduction enough to give him some time & space and say let's see what ya got. I think his leash is short though. If Jimmy smells dysfunction surrounding Sanders he'll be outta here quickly.

One of us played D1 College football, worked directly with an NFL Team for years and has friends still working for NFL Teams.

We may well have another losing season next year. But it's hard to argue that we don't need someone to elevate and revamp the offense. Any decent DC will succeed with our defensive players. And 12 will struggle (like Maye last night) if we don't solve our offensive line issues. But I'm very happy Monken took this challenge. Sorry Schwartz didn't buy in, but I think we had to go with an offensive coach for this team, and we couldn't expect a better guy to take this job than Monken.

in fact Ill go one step further and say the MVP of the browns (coaches and players) over the last 3 years is JS.
no one has influenced this football team more than this one man.he knows it.players know it.owners dont.
If the other D team enjoys coaching at a level we dont? we are disadvantaged before kickoff.
