Cavaliers 2025 - 2026 season

It pains me to say these guys are entitled to wear what they want… I just wish they’d keep it to themselves.

I just want to watch basketball, not know about their whiny uneducated views.

Yeah, I hate the concept of "use your platform", no matter if I agree with it or not.
I don't pay for a ticket, or a TV stream subsciption, to hear the lead singer or a star athelete go political.
Someone should tell these dudes, it doesn't inspire or change minds, it just makes us endure your message, somewhat begrudgingly.

Garland sucks in the playoffs.... and is injured half the time. At least Harden is available and plays.

I don't feel the "it factor" with our current roster. We're damn good, but it doesn't seem like we're quite there, and Garland is injury soooo often. I'm up for this Harden acquisition.

Harden is decorated. A wildly successful player by any measure. BUT, he doesn't have a ring.
Maybe, at age 36, he pushes all the chips in the middle and presses the gas pedal to the floor ... and this trade works out for us.
I thing I feel confident in, it's not going to hurt us. We won't go backwards.

Harden at least is available - not injured - and provides scoring burts to help Mitchell. Mitchell needs help... this is a good option.

The other thing Harden has been fantastic at in his career is helping big men. Big men have had incredible seasons with Harden as their teammate.

We weren't winning anything with the way the roster was constructed. So I am fine rolling the dice here. Not too mention, I have a feeling we aren't done making moves...

Harden is not going to help us. he plays no D. I rooted for him for years, then came the playoffs and he just becomes just another guy.
guys The Clippers are getting off him. now if they got off Kawhi I'd be all in on that.
at least Garland tries to play D till he gets his jaw broken or something.

The "Harden" doesn't play defense argument is really weak.

Garland didn't just struggle playing defense in the playoffs - he was so bad he was targeted by opposing teams. Teams consistently exploited him and went after him possession after possession and the Cavs had no answers. Indiana built their entire offensive game plan around attacking Garland. He is as bad of a defender as there is in the NBA.

The Cavs didn't acquire Harden to be a lock-down defender... no one believes he will be a solid defender. Harden is coming to Cleveland to be Mitchell's running mate and a player who can take some of the scoring load off of him and score in bunches. He also provides a pick-and-roll presences that has made every big man he has played with better. Embiid won an MVP with Harden. He will help Mobley and Allent significantly in ways Garland could not.

This move improves the Cavs overall and makes them a much more dangerous playoff team. It was a move Mitchell requested. Add in Ellis and Schroder adding defense and toughness to the squad, and we are much better positioned come playoff time. Although, I'm not sure the Cavs are done making moves those.

Next season is going to be wild...

This is about the NBA !

I never said he was a good defender.

This is a wish list.

Answer me this of All the teams he's been on Who wants him back ?
He ends up quitting on them all as he asks for more money. same old song and dance with this guy... me me me.

Where in the world did that come from ?
players never ask for a player who in many ways mirror their own play, heavy ball usage etc. a real lock-down defender would be his ask.

Add in Ellis and Schroder adding defense and toughness to the squad,
I have no trouble with these 2 players. I just hope they are on the court the last 5 minutes, with Harden on the bench.

That was a lot of words to literally not make a coherent argument or disprove anything I said,

I’m not a Harden expert by any stretch. But if he can get more out of our big’s(Mobley/allen)im in favor of the move.

Size alone he’s an upgrade over Garland. Garland never intimidated anyone, way too nice and just doesn’t have the ‘dog’ in him. Come playoffs i think its a trait people exploited.
