I'm seriously digging Dorsey's approach so far

Beating it with a stick: One of the most epic player acquisition seasons in NFL history. Trading for Landry, signing Desmond Harrison, stealing Avery, getting Randall for Kizer, nailing it with Baker-Denzel-Chubb... it just goes on and on.
 
Corbett’s basement is likely along the line of Jeff Faine. He can be a very good guard/center (I’m thinking center), but may have to develop over 2-3 years.

He’s a life long LT, so it’s okay to say we should give him a minute. He’s transitioning, a super hard worker, loves the game, and has great interior lineman mentors on this team.

If we want to nit pick Dorsey, his only real head-scratcher was that Chad Thomas pick in the 3rd, and even he had one of our best defensive grades last game (well, like 4-5th), in limited snaps. I just haven’t noticed him at all. Like not once.

But hey, Dorsey isn’t ashamed to cut a draft pick, and despite his DL roster churning, Thomas remains. Maybe he’s flashing in practice a tinge. It’s not like we need DE’s with Garrett, Ogbah, Avery and Smith (who has flashed some).

No GM hits every pick..but when you look at the free agent acquisitions, trades, and draft.. and this being Dorsey's first year.. He's flat out killing it.
 
He's obviously a personnel evaluator with conviction, he knows what it takes to build a winner and this is on the verge of being what, the third spot he's built a quality team? It's about damn time the Browns brought in someone who knows what the fuck they're doing and has a resume of SUCCESS most importantly.

I know it's still early, but hell. Best start since 07, most points scored in a game since 07. We are trending in the right direction.

Matthews played with the Titans earlier this year before being cut. Had a 65 catches for 945 yards and 9 TDs season in 2016. Huff was an Eagles depth receiver a while back, has to serve a two-game suspension if/when he signs with someone. Tye was 2015 All-Rookie Team. Not much to write home about after those guys.
 
A quick comparison.
It's early to judge these drafts.
I'm just not sure Reid is the insane draft genius everyone wants to paint him to be.
I'll admit I don't know a ton about all of these players.

3rd Round (#67): DE Chad Thomas - 19 snaps this year
4th Round (#105): WR Antonio Callaway - starter - very promising
5th Round (#150): LB Genard Avery - starter - legit - PFF top 10 Edge

Maybe Dorsey is better. Maybe he's hitting stride. Maybe he just got lucky.
We'll see, but for now, Dorsey looks better.

If he'd only taken Maurice Hurst instead of Chad Thomas.
 
the whole draft is such a crap-shoot. after watching a little of the TNF game how the heck did Philip Lindsay go undrafted? the guy is electric.

he is like duke johnson with 4.3 speed i mean really how does a guy like that go undrafted?
 
He lands us another playmaker or two in the next draft and his record starts to look real good. I just imagine what we could look like with a fully competent offense. We've already seen that we just don't have the depth at that end of the ball that we hoped.

What's amazing is just about every draft since the team came back we we're lucky to hit on ONE pick. I mean you've got to be the world's unluckiest moron to keep that up so long.
And now...
So many keepers. I only hope we keep this up and develop some serious depth.
 
Exactly, in that regard more than anything else it's hard not to love his work thus far. 37 new players on the roster from last year. Second most in the NFL. That kind of turnover and the results it's merited thus far, I think it's hard to argue against him right now. Let's see how things continue this year and in to next year. All most of us can think about is that Hyde trade...

So again, we don't have wins so we brag about the turnover of players: 37 new faces on the team. I wonder. Is he trying to outdo Sashi?
