Browns Monken's staff

We all love Schwartz the DC.
And part of me didn’t want to disrupt the best part of our team.
But, what did that top-5 defense get us?
We needed to go all-in on offense.

Cool story. Hire an OC then, go all in on it. But yeah, this "let's only hire OC's to be HC" has worked so well for us so far, may as well keep going back to it over and over.

And like clockwork you still have zero fucking clue what you're talking about. You dickride a glorified RB LARPing as a QB, naturally you're glazing a guy who sucked balls as a HC as well as OC when he wasn't fetching Harbaughs coffee.

And another retard added to the ignore list.

"Sucked balls as a HC"?

Thanks for removing any doubt that you have zero clue.

In his only time as a HC, Monken took over a winless team and guided them to 9 wins, the conference championship game and won CUSA coach of the year before leaving for the NFL. Southern Miss hasn't won 9 games since Monken left.

You're so bad at everything football related it's scary. But continue to give retarded takes and ad hominem attacks that sound like an old man yelling clouds. The rest of us will discuss actual football.

Super Bowl
New Engliand - #2 scoring offense in the NFL
Seattle - #3 scoring offense in the NFL

That doesn't mean that defense doesn't matter... it does. But the NFL is an offensive league and you win by scoring points. Monken isn't just an innovative offensive mind... he is a no-nonsense disciplinarian. The days of watching the Browns commit stupid penalty after stupid penalty because our coach is a pushover are over.
They're also the #1 and #4 scoring defenses. And New England is in the Super Bowl because of their defense. The Pats have scored a total of 5 offensive TDs in 3 games. The defense is giving up 8.7 points per game in the playoffs. I'm betting the Super Bowl is a low scoring, defensive battle, unless Seattle destroys the Pats.

The NFL is an offensive league during the regular season. But defense wins championships in the playoffs.

Wrong. NE is in the Super Bowl because of Drake Maye.

New England played 2 massively struggling QB's. and a game in terrible elements. Maybe one of the easist paths to the Super Bowl in recent memory. Pretty much any defense would have faired as well.

The Seahawks scored 41 and 31 in their two playoff games. Offense... offense... offense....

The NFL is an offensive league all the time. That's where we are in today's modern football.

That's the worst take of your life. NE is in the Super Bowl because they did a great job spending 350,000,000 in free agents last year and Vrabel built a great defense with those guys. And that defense is carrying Drake Maye in the playoffs. No doubt Drake Maye played a huge role in NE's turnaround, but he didn't do it by himself, especially in the playoffs.

Drake Maye is in the Top 2 for NFL MVP. He is the major difference and reason that team is where they are. QB is the most important position in all of sports. Of all fans... a Browns fan should know that a defense isn't getting you anywhere if you don't have QB and offense figured out.

Drake Mays is the best QB in football right now when you add everything up - contract and play. His rookie contract is one of the driving factors in their success. Not as important as his play, but still a huge factor in NE being able to build a whole new team in one year. Drake Maye was great as a rookie, but the team still sucked. QB is the most important position, but you can have one of the top 5 QBs in the league and still suck (see Cincinnati). NE isn't going anywhere the next few seasons. The Bills and the Chiefs are going to have a very hard time competing with the Pats while paying Mahomes and Allen such a large portion of their cap space.

Running total (MORE offense):
  • Monken (Offensive Head Coach)
  • Switzer (Offensive Coordinator)
  • Warhop (Offensive Line Coach)
  • Breyer (Pass Game Coordinator)
  • Ian Kolste (Offensive Analyst)
  • Daniel Stern (interview associate HC)
  • Jeff Blasko (TE coach)
  • Mike Bajakian (Quarterbacks coach)

So, we’re day 5 of the Monken era, and there are 7 new coaches for the offense, one less STC (Bubba), and not a peep from the defensive side of the ball.

No known departures.
No known interviews with other teams.

Otter staffs are filling out quicky and landing spots are getting eaten up.

Might be an interesting week.

Is Stern official?

From GiantsWire on him:

He assists with quarterback development in a room led by Lamar Jackson, helps craft playbooks and call sheets, conducts opponent analysis and self-scouting, and advised former head coach John Harbaugh on in-game clock management, challenges, situational football, rules, and officiating.

A Yale graduate (magna cum laude, cognitive science, 2016). A Baltimore native.

They'd like to have him in the fold for the big Monken presser/introduction.

Everyone is hoping for Schwartz as DC and we do not have a RB coach yet. I'd also have Monken look at Deuce Staley. Coaching is in his blood.
