Browns Pick #144, Sheduer Sanders, QB, Colorado

Who do you like in this upcoming draft?
I’m hoping someone can set themselves apart from the pack.
I would be tanking to go after Mendoza at this point. Short of that there are a few other good options for runner up.

At this point if they're going to roll with Sanders you should probably try and trade out of the first this draft to roll over the next with 3-4 first round picks so you can have the draft capital to try and get Arch Manning.

Before the BS starts, I was all in on Sanders last off-season and wanted the kid, and was excited to see him play. In the two games we have seen he looked horrible against the Ravens and middle of the road against a dog shit, garbage ass Raiders Defense that has one solid player on it. It's a safe bet that he isn't THE guy and won't be morphing into THE guy at the NFL level.

That may be, but you never know.

We were also "told" not to draft a QB at all in 2025, because the 2026 class is loaded, with Klub, Allar, Sellars, Nuss, and Manning. All of whom have flamed out or aren't coming out.

Guess we'll know in the end what the right thing to do was.
The right thing to do was to shoot your shot at QB. Sanders was a no brainer, Dillon was a no brain cells pick.

But you have to keep shooting your shot until you land the guy and Sanders is looking like he's NOT the guy. Rookie or not, the Raiders Defense is trash and he should have had an easy time picking them apart. He didn't.

We have to shoot another shot in this upcoming draft. Likely we won't, Sanders will be just good enough to save Berry and Stefanski's jobs, or at least Berry's, and put us out of the running.

I hope I am wrong.

Sanders value is in the 2026 draft too. If he plays ok as a rookie, a team might take him, on a 4 year rookie deal, in addition to a couple 1st round picks.

Wait a minute
We have seen rookie QB's making first starts ... How many times ?
From future HOF players to guys we draft. Shedeur looked better than most yesterday. he just happened to be on our sorry ass team.
is he a future HOF player I have no idea............ but we just suffered thru 6 dam weeks of a Sexing Midget.
so come up for air guys. enjoy a Victory week

I said Sanders looked ok. That could be enough value if it stays like that on somebody else's eyes. If not so what? He's a 5th round pick.
Our QBOTF is likely not here yet.

He showed some promise. I'm not sure any QB would look "great" in our shitty offense. And clearly Sanders has a long way to go and a lot to learn. He got fooled big-time on the interception. But at least he threw the ball down the field a few times and he moved in the pocket and avoided the rush very well.

I think Stefanski wants to go back to Gabriel. Not sure if he can get away with it though. What a nightmare for Gabriel if Stefanski starts him against SF next week in Cleveland!

Agree. And look at the game-1's of many of the solid players, or even the GOAT.

Mayfield's first game: 21 of 41 passes for 295 yards, with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in a loss.
Tom Brady's first game: 13 of 23 passes for 168 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions, but he won 44-13.

The stats don't really matter now for Sanders, as some (none here), are pointing out his QBR etc. It's does he flash. Does he look the part. Does he raise the level of those around him. Does he run the offense well. etc etc. It seems like everyone here gets that.

It's the difference between JJ McCarthy and Cam Ward. Both have bad numbers and are losing, but one passes the eye test for now (Ward), and one looks like dog shit (JJ).

One game at a time. Odds are against him. Let's just see.

When was the last time you seen this team so much Alive in a game ? they just looked sharp
Jeudy was having too much fun but ...

He even elevated the defense. I've never ever seen a Browns defense have that many smiles and that much fun. Playing with a 14 point lead was electrifying for them.

=====

For the Sanders haters on X, they're having to swallow a bitter pill. They want to bash Sanders who in their eyes "wasn't very good", and then concede that with this proclaimed "bad performance", he just beat out lil' dil. Ouch.

Man, I have to say, the defense's attitude all season has been stellar. No whining and complaining about the shitty offense. Just hard ass effort every play. I give Garrett a ton of credit for this. He's willing this defense to greatness despite our chances in every game. I've been a critic of Garrett, but I must admit. he totally deserves defensive MVP this season.
