Pick 44 is in, Grant Delpit, S, LSU

Range is limited as a FS...

Delpit's got the athleticism to overcome that "weakness," but it depends on scheme and coaching. I don't think he'll ever be Ed Reed, but he can be special with the right scheme and coaching.

At worst, he's a solid SS ... at best, he's a solid FS in the mold of a poor man's Derwin James/Jamal Adams.

As long as the coaches understand that Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are man-to-man guys, Delpit can reach his full potential.

Dumbasses like Ray Horton and Steve Wilks who play man-to-man guys in their idiotic zone schemes will make Delpit look like a bust.

Coming into this draft needing starters at LT and FS and coming out with Wills and Delpit instead of getting cute?

Absolute A+ for young Mister Berry. As several have already said, when you start grading offseasons, Browns have to be one of the few at the top.

Incredibly complete team. I do get that we feel really young and meh at LB, but we'll find out if they just feel completely comfortable letting BJ, Phillips, Mack, Sione, and Willie compete... or maybe there's a Nigel heading our way once his ankles check out.

You can’t fill every hole in one season especially
with a new front office and where they see the
future of the team.
We will be soft at LB this year but like the Ravens
it becomes much easier to grab an impact player
later in the first round,, there’s just to many great
players to not grab a winner.
We will be in that position next year and for now our
offense will be carrying the team to a winning record
this year and we grab Dline,LB,WR and corner safety
help depending on how these one year player contracts
pan out.

EXTREMELY well put: Gets easier to draft LBs in 2 or even 1 when you're picking 25th and later. No doubt about it.

You know what it seems like? Seems like the Browns have decided LBs are for tackling RBs on 1st and 2nd down and then let the DBs take it from there and do the covering.

If you don't use Delpit to patrol the back end, well... I think that's nuts. I bet he's gonna be good at a lot of things real fast -- big dude with an attitude, just needs coached on angles and such -- but he has elite range and instincts on the back end.

Again...he weighed in at 203 at the combine...hopefully that was just to get a fast 40 time...because he will need to be around 215 to be a legit back end enforcer
