NFL Draft Pick #9, Spencer Fano, OT, Utah

[OconRecon]

That’s one smooth glide-rep from Fano

We can officially say Fano is not going to be a bust. He's a bulldog! And I admit, the pass blocking as a whole is better this season than last.

I think we can put Austin Barber in that camp too...

I'm sure Barber could play RT, but as a rookie stepping in at RG and doing as well as he is why mess around? We still have Dawand Jones to plat RT if what's his name can't get the snap count right and is ineffective.

He looks elite at guard.

This kid is settling in. PFF grade of 92.2 vs the Titans.
He is now graded as the top offensive lineman in his class. That's OT, OG, & C.
Also, he now grades as a top-10 tackle in the NFL.

I was worried about Fano earlier for minute, but he's been very good as he gets used to the NFL.

[OconRecon]

There it is. Also made PFF team of the week along with KC.
League wide, he's approaching top-10 level

I'll say this about Fano: the dude plays hard and seems committed to being as good as he can be. I can't ask for more.

[OconRecon]

I'll say this about Fano: the dude is starting more along the lines of an Alex Mack or Joel Bitonio, rather than a Jed Wills or Cam Erving. Thank God.

He is nothing like those stiffs.. He gives it all on every down...
