Fuck Cancer! R.I.P Sean Webb
Absolutely devastated by the Bailey news. I hadn't seen and was just coming to post about that man.
The Browns line, minus Pasztor, was absolutely flawless. There were multiple plays in which an already pretty gain would have been much more minus both Bailey and Greco being a little slow to break off the double and hit the second level block. At new positions, this is totally to be expected, and in time those fractions of a second are reduced. This run game, which is already top five, is going to be something special when the consistency kicks in - if we can ever fucking get there.
There was also a handful of plays in which Miami pissed me off just by having that one man make a great play. This was typically Kiko Alonso, who just pops off film as incredible. There were a good 4/5 runs that would have been massive if not for the noticeable quick reactions of a player or two. I think it was Jenkins who responded flawlessly to the end around to Hawkins - everyone else was blocked for a would-be touchdown. I'm sitting here just smiling away at the thought of them dying a slow, painful death. Motherfuckers ruined several huge plays. I hate when an individual moment of brilliance ruins everything.
Pasztor was fucking terrible. I mean, just wow. He was routinely not making initial contact on favourable angles, he was getting blown up in the passing game, he was clearly the Browns weakest run blocker, and all those penalties were just terrible. He's just a shitty, shitty tackle.
Greco is our C. He was fantastic, absolutely incredible. Even with this Bailey news, keep him there. Fuck it. Put Pasztor back at G. I implore people to understand that Pasztor was a guard in college, he entered the NFL as a guard, injuries in Jacksonville forced him to RT where he sucked, he was excellent for us as a G last season and he's back to stinking it up at RT. I'm not saying he'll without doubt be perfect, but he's a guard and has always been better there. He was a real bright spot for us last season at his natural position. I don't want to give up on the guy totally, just give up on him at RT, because we've seen him play very well at guard.
Thomas/Bitonio/Greco/Pasztor/Coleman - If shit goes the way we know it goes, our only real concern is our rookie RT who is a fantastic talent and will only get better.
I'm so encouraged by this line and Hue Jackson's rushing scheme. So clever, so simple, and it's creating space. Be it Crow or Duke, those guys didn't skip a beat and more often than not had a hole exactly where they wanted it.
