Talking about last year. Romo goes down. Weeden et al comes in. They draft fourth overall. I'm saying they were better with Romo, and worse with back-ups.

Even with a good O line, it's hard to win with bad QB-ing.

Well darn........you got me to actually do a little homework and I fucked that up. No doubt their back ups have sucked :) I think I'll stick to the "eye test" and leave the analytics to you guys ;)

Its not hard, its impossible save for one, epic quest of a route: field a generationally great defense.

Some rookie notables, Tunsil grading at 70 and Ronnie Stanley at 50. Ends up there's a learning curve to playing tackle in this league. ;)

He may or may not be starter material, but AP is a free agent who knows Hue's offense now, and can likely be signed economically. Additionally, it might be time to let Shon Coleman take some lumps.

Fwiw, lurking on the Chiefs boards a bit today, they feel Schwartz was overpaid. In fact, they kind of don't like him. Kind of like the first few years of his Browns tenure. No hate, but frustrating at times.

Just signed Schwartz's (at one time) back-up to the PS. A 6'9" mountain. Suspended early this year for 4 games for violating the PED policy. UDFA from this spring, Nebraska. No real snaps on Sunday this year that I can find.

Dude looks like a beast. He should be entertaining to watch if he makes it into the lineup. With all these linemen we are picking up who are in the 6'6"-6'9" range that puts extra emphasis on finding a QB with some height so he doesn't bank his throws off the back of their helmets.
 
This is good as it shows they're still looking to see what's out there for that position in case we can't resign AP and/or they're planning to sign AP and move him to guard...if the new guy Johnny Cooper can't play.

I hope so too. The thing on him was he is super athletic, but lacked lower body strength. If he has built on that, he could be an upgrade and immediate impact.

I'm super curious if Schwartz and Pasztor end up grading out similarly by year's end. They're neck and neck right now, with Pasztor improving as most of his poor play was in the first few weeks.

I don't know why I like the guy. Guess it's because he's a mountain of a man, young, and just shuts up and tries to get better. Of course him panning out would be a pretty decent development.

He's been less than horrible at RT, but it's a new position. He was better at guard last year. I have a feeling he's a "pretty good player." If you keep starting him, he'll get better, kind of like Schwartz did. We transitioned from not liking him all that much to horrified at losing him really smoothly, right?
 
He's been pretty horrible at RT to my eye and its not like I've seen a straight line improvement as we've gone forward. His work the past two weeks in pass protection have been pretty poor.

I like him too, Ocon, but I'm afraid he just doesn't have the feet for the job. Its not a "clean up the technique" thing for me as much as its a "I simply can't move that quickly" thing. I like him at guard/back-up tackle. I don't like him as one of a bookend tandem tackle duo.
