I'm pretty sure the Browns have no interest in playing more than one rookie on the line. LOTS of crossed fingers in Berea on Teller. He'd been coming along nicely before shitting himself yesterday.
Forbes will be in the mix, too. I'd say draft a RT in R1 and then it's free agency for the guard and the LT. And there won't be a lot of candidates for the later. Greg Robinson is pretty high on that list.

If Forbes doesn't replace Teller after whatever-the-fuck-that-just-was-but-it-wasn't-blocking then I'm just going to assume they hate him and he's not in the teams plans moving forward.
At this stage, the same is true for Lamm replacing Hubbard. I know Kendall Lamm ain't shit but anything is better than Chris Hubbard. It would probably be an upgrade if the Browns made a stadium announcement asking, "Who is the most drunk motherfucker here?" and played that person at RT. Yes, I'm kidding, but I might actually be right.
The moment Hubbard should have been benched was after he gave up a sack on Mayfield on the first drive inside Pittsburgh's 10. Hubbard offered Baker a hand getting up and Mayfield got himself the fuck up. Pretty obvious 'fuck you' in hindsight.
I don't know what your sig bet was but I'll honor it anyway because you were right. Enough is enough of this fucking OL. I know it wasn't the best game, but I am really proud of the way Mayfield played against Pittsburgh. He was hurt and avoiding pressure all night, or otherwise getting hit, and he just kept going.
There is no fucking way we finally found a quarterback and now we've got to watch him get lit up because we can't block for him. After wasting the careers of guys like Joe Thomas, Eric Steinbach and Alex Mack, I cannot and will not accept inferior OL play resulting in our quarterback getting fucking Couch'd.

I knew our OL hadn't played well. But re-watching it was just fucking painful. I've been pretty chill about playing out the year and then doing what we can in the draft and free agency, but I'm honestly worried about Mayfield moving forward.
Hubbard in particular. I can cut McCray slack because he's a back-up playing out of position. I can forgive Teller his worst game so far. But Hubbard is just stone cold shit. He's the new fucking Oneil Cousins.
Speaking of whom, we added Cousins from Baltimore. We added Hubbard from Pittsburgh. No more adding OL from the AFC North. That's a rule. Shoot the GM on sight if he tries. Finesse that shit like Sashi Brown on the A.J McCarron trade.

Think the main lesson from the Hubbard mess is that gambling on borderline #problematic traits (an OT weighing less than three bills, with sub-33" arms) sets you up to suffer if there's any kind of skill regression/bad injury luck.

Hubbard is regressing on a weekly basis, definitely the weakest link. We can see the huge dropoff whenever Robinson is out. Teller had some bad whiffs but actually was our highest PFF rated OL.
I don't think they're giving up on Teller just yet. He was playing good ball, local media got the message from the team (line was steadily improving since he took over), but blaming the OL is imbedded in our Browns fan souls. We blamed them for McCoy and even Frye not being great.
The Browns OL did indeed suck ass last Sunday but the main reason was that our tackles were about as bad as you could field on any given Sunday. McCray at LT makes no sense at all to me, do not understand the entire point of having Kendall Lamm, and actual LT, if you don't play him.
Job #1 is to get much, much better at RT. I'm in favor of drafting that guy because he could be a future LT, something a ton of teams seem to do. Agree with y'all, very curious about Forbes because he's sort of the Dylan Windler of Campen's heart, it seems.

I think that's an oversight. JC Tretter has been excellent along with Bitonio. I like Wyatt Teller at RG, but he is also young.
604 315 24 years old in his 2nd season. He's tough as nails, but new and getting OJT. I believe he'll work out in the long run, but we got a learning curve to get past. Hell I don't think he's the knucklhead that's always jumping offsides so, BONUS!

I imagine the team is gonna be rubbing crystals and shit in hopes that Teller works out and Forbes gets some snaps and looks good.
You can only overhaul a line so much within reason. RT would seem to be the obvious draft target, at least to me, but maybe they can trade up and get a day one LT, sign a RT in free agency.
I have a notion Teller and Forbes will be in a 3-dude competition for 2 spots on the right side, along with a high-level newcomer.

Had a nice exchange on Twitter with Jake Burns, my favorite Yoda, and beat writer Risdon. How I'd summarize it:
- Jack was Tweeting about how much more troubling the OL has been than can be revealed in metrics, which I found fascinating. He says it's been a huge problem for Baker, often just because it's in his head that there could be an essentially free rusher coming. Happens far too much.
Needs to be job #1, no doubt.
- He reiterated the obvious, that the biggest problem by far is Hubbard. Has to be replaced. Zero doubt on that one.
- Robinson is a grayer issue because he has definitely NOT sucked. But he's so-so and the Browns should try to upgrade him. Doesn't mean they can and he could be resigned on a team friendly deal, might have to compete.
- Nobody knows about Forbes but team likes him. Teller has been "up and down," but Jake would definitely bring him back and let him compete. Both will be in the mix (I'd bank on it).
- Nobody should freak out if we draft Delpit in R1. OT draft is excellent and we could get a high level RT starter in R2, add another with one of the two R3s, and have LT taken care of with a veteran (I still haven't heard a lot outside of Robinson or Trent, maybe Daryl Williams is healthy and hits the market). There are a lot of ways to upgrade a line.

One thing Id like to see Baker do is take care of his body better... Start working out and get his mind mentally prepared for next season.. This year was a total fucking waste... I blame Dorse and Freddie for that.. We need that Bill Walsh/Joe Montana relationship to happen where theres just a bit of friction between the two instead of this buddy,buddy crap... I think it would motivate Baker more.. Put down the beer and the cheese burgers ,Baker!!

To be clear, I love Baker. I think he's an elite talent, period. Checks every single box for me. I want him to be the Browns QB for the next 12, 13 years.
But I agree: He'll need to get into the whole fitness/nutrition thing soon, like Brady and Brees and others did. I'll bet he does. Will extend his career, let him be one of the 40+ dudes.

baker is a great power passer
but he is not a versatile passer
he's not comfortable throwing "touch" passes (the kind OBJ likes)
a stark contrast to a player like kosar who could drop a ball in a bucket from the 30
thats not really a knock on him just an observation
so he needs an OFF mind to come in and build an OFF around his power game
a few essential pieces we need are
a great pass receiving TE and tough,over the top possession WR's (we have the best in JL)
a much better O-line
most of all - playcalling and an OFF scheme to suit his power game
I've said before go watch old packers tape and see what worked for favre
bakers a very rare talent who could fall into obscurity without the right OFF
as we saw this year
