Stefanski is the only Browns coach in the last 50+ years to win coach of the year, and he's done it twice. I'm not going to throw that away very quickly. Even if he ends up in a CEO type of roll, which basically means the DC and OC are calling the plays, which is a common thing in the NFL, I'll support him for a while.
What was McDermott's excuse last year? 100% healthy o-line and a 100% healthy Josh Allen, and he had a bad slump in the middle to barely make the playoffs.
Stefanski had 1 starting o-lineman who was healthy all year, and often the back-ups even ended up on IR, let alone the 5 QB thing.
Having said all of that, I get the desire for Vrabel. A fantastic addition.
A two time coach of the year, the reigning DC of the year, and Vrable on one staff, I think we can all agree, is a wonderful thing to have.
