Browns Watson vs Sanders for QB1

OconRecon

If you're juiceless, you're useless
Fuuuuuu .......... I hate this.

On Watson,

Probably the most hated CLE sports figure of the century
It was 2020 when he was last good
There simply is no precedent whereby any player in any sport took time off and returned to glory after a 5 year hiatus
Especially when that hiatus was filled with personal conduct issues, multiple achilles tears, and oh when healthy, shitty play
And, are the Browns really going to hand him a new contract if he wins, say, 10 games?
And if a 2nd contact isn't possible, WTF are we doing?
Or, is this pumping up Watson for a trade? Doubtful.

Grossi saying he can't recall a Browns player as popular as Sanders since Bernie. Nationally, he's easily the most popular Browns player of the century.

We are sooooo going to start Watson. You can just tell.

I get Monken, and every football coach, wants to win this year and every year. But still, I can't stand the Watson idea. And I defended the move for years, until he sucked.

The team is banking on winning will solve everything amongst fans. Maybe it will.
But this is a fan base who rooted against home town Hoyer to get 1st round Manzel on the field. Against D.A. to get first round Quinn on the field.
So, we have the very popular Sanders on a rookie deal vs the most disliked Cleveland athlete of the century. Many still see him as a 1st round talent.
I'm sure it'll work out just fine.

Oh, and take each players non-football drama out of the equation, I'm not convinced the 2026 Watson gives us a better chance to win vs 2026 Sanders. 2018-2020 Watson? Sure, but everything points to that version never coming back.

the watson hype is FAKE. sanders has impressed so much he's locked in as QB1.see schedule video
they are pumping DW up like dem ol nike's hoping to deal him this year or next..thanks media :ROFLMAO:
starting QB's get hurt between TC & week 2 every year.🤞
this DW hyperbole will continue while #2 works his unbelievably tough pre-season training regime
& just couldn't be better prepared for TC.Its like that moment for sanders (you know..moms spaghetti?)
& he knows it.dum-dee-dum-dee dum dada..

I really like Monken... But starting Watson could be suicidal for him... In no universe has any player gotten better after being in the league almost a full decade.. This is wasting reps that should be given to Sanders.. Yeah.. DeRapst will look great in Tee shirts and shorts and no violent rush coming after his washed up ass... Then "VOILA".. Total stinkola... just hearing his named mention as a Cleveland Brown makes want to vomit.

If we win, and he looks good, for those first 2 away games, does the home crowd cheer him into the stadium for week 3?
They better introduce the defense all year at home.

He has Mt Everest to climb to get in the good graces of fans.

And again, I was pro-Watson. I can't imagine convince the many many fans who hated him from the jump, that they're supposed to now cheer him.

And, the league is littered with QB's who had a few good years and that was that. Wentz comes to mind. Hurtz is fading. It's not "once good, always good".

People don't want to hear this but there is a short lifespan on scrambling QB's...

Here's the thing.

Watson phase 1 - tons of baggage + an overpaid contract (recall he told the Browns to f-off until the contract was fully guaranteed)
Watson phase 2 - injured multiple times + and when healthy he was horrible.
Watson phase 3 - baggage + contract + broken down + horrible recent play is going to = a great QB?

Just not seeing it.

There is a massive list of QB's who were good for a short time, then then they weren't, or injuries took them out of the game.
There is no precedent for this. None.

If Watson takes us to the AFC Championship like Bernie, I'll happily eat crow.

If that piece of shit ever takes the field again I hope he gets every pass intercepted for a pick-six until he gets subbed.
Fuck him.

they'll have DW training well with the 1st team in front of the cameras
then speak highly of him & his recovery. media/internet does the rest..
