NFL Draft - Who do the Browns want for a Receiver from the 2022 draft. | Page 3 |

NFL Draft Who do the Browns want for a Receiver from the 2022 draft.

We have horrific luck when drafting WRs in the first round.

I know the Browns are going to kick the tires on some FA and maybe some fire sale QBs. Yes, Baker is going to be better when healthy. That much is obvious but he is still a short, unathletic QB who can't see the field, throws late, high, and behind, and hasn't improved at all since entering the NFL. If the FO doesn't have balls this off-season, and Baker isn't a top 10 QB.. say hello to another decade without a Superbowl.
he wont get another chance man.'22 will be it for him.his deal will be up and hes due for a raise.
but the schedule, the bloody schedule looks real sweet. Ive gotta say I am much more optimistic having seen it

if you're that committed to moving on from Mayfield. The chances aren't looking good.
you didnt read my post where I said.
I agree on baker.I still think given all that, we can win with him. the right schedule with a healthy baker? we are playoff bound IMO.
I am commited to having a great backup.I want to upgrade keenum.not baker (unless y'know he eventually works out) ala hurts
I think a rook QB would be great.1st rd pick to learn behind baker and lets just see how good a QB has to be to win behind this OFF.
Watson, Wilson or Rodgers.
those guys will never play here. Its pie in the sky stuff
don't care about the quarterback stuff.
well hell,at least you're honest.I can dig it.

oops, someone didnt do their homework LMFAO! not an opinion there sparky. the sports media lost dey damn mind over it.

You really think they won that game because Odell had 39 receiving yards? They had three other receivers over 60 yards that game...

I also mentioned in my post that Odell's touchdowns were assisted by playing beside Kupp. Sure looked like some confusion there when Kupp was sent in motion as a decoy.

And, again, that's just not a $20M route. Whether sports media loses their mind or not. It just isn't.

I did miss that part, but my memory sucks so I may have seen it.

But, with that said, I don't see that being our approach. Partly because this QB class isn't good, and partly because there isn't value in using the 13th pick on a guy who isn't even going to play for at least a year.

Who knows. As I've mentioned, I'm very intrigued by the skillset of Malik Willis. But this regime doesn't seem the type to fall in love with skill sets the way a Hue Jackson did with Deshone Kizer and RG3 - the whole, 'he's got the tools but I can develop the rest' mentality. I don't think they'll risk it.

???????? LMFAO
title in the video is -
Odell Beckham Jr. catches game-winning touchdown, Rams beat Ravens 20-19

no-one believes it? or you dont believe it?

You're right. I don't believe it, and I shouldn't speak for anyone else.

I don't believe the Rams are a good team because of Odell. I don't believe he's the reason the Rams won that game, even if he caught the go-ahead touchdown. I don't believe he's the best or even second best receiver on that team. I don't believe he's worth $20M per year. I don't believe he's still an elite NFL receiver. And, above all, I don't believe his struggles in Cleveland falls on the shoulders of others.

willis is just the kinda kid you dont want starting right away.blood him slowly,3rd downs, goal line.lets see a little razzle dazzle.
spice this OFF up a bit.run some gimmicks with the kid.great idea BDU.Im down 100. I love dis
this OFF really needs a spark. but look what jones has done and everybody laughed their arses off (me too) when BB took him
wilson looks like a bust so far - he looked great.zappe broke all the records last year and looks to be a 2nd/3rd rd pick.
bad draft? it really is a crap shoot although on paper I have to agree but who TF knows man? Its worth a try. jackson worked out.
It really is too soon though.draft day is far away still.(I actually think willis will be a top 10 pick and will be off the board)
I don't think they'll risk it.
but you gotta risk it.ta get the biscuit!

We should move this to the QB thread, but oh well.

Super talented kid. Arm for days, high end mobility. Just massively inconsistent and in need of a lot of development.

I feel bad for kids like him. I feel the ones which have all that natural talent are let down from a development perspective. Given the level of competition he played against, it's an uphill battle for him.

Like I said, our analytics-focused team will probably shy away from that. While they'll love the percentile measurements, they'll hate the development required. Even "upside" guys in recent years like Mahomes and Jackson were much more efficient, prolific passers against tried and tested opposition. They also didn't have as far to go. And I'd argue both are more gifted. Mahomes as a passer, Lamar as an athlete.

Who knows. It's impossible to say. I just don't see any prospects I think this team will take that leap of faith on.

I love Drake London's game. He does everything so well. Polished route runner, hard to press, great hand fighting, great feel for the coverage, tremendous hands and off-the-charts contested catching (PFF had him winning 19 of 27 contested grabs). He reminds me of Landry in his subtle elusiveness, too. The only thing working against him is he doesn't have that explosive top gear of a Williams, Wilson or Olave - and smaller, faster receivers are becoming the coveted option thanks to the way the game is officiated.

His size is both a plus and a minus. Listed at 6'5" 210, which is why he lacks high end speed. He's a monster. But in our run-heavy offense, he could be a nice compromise to moving way from the Jumbo sets while still having a big body out there in tight formations who can reliably block. As mentioned, the size also makes him a viable target when covered.

London isn't a dissimilar prospect to Mike Evans, and consistently draws such comparisons. I don't think he's quite the prospect as Evans, but being close speaks volumes.

He could be a wonderful fit in the offense if the Browns are confident they can see development from Anthony Schwartz and perhaps add another speedy guy. But having Drake London, Donovan Peoples-Jones and (Should we bring him back) David Njoku would be a mismatch nightmare.

Just watched both those highlight vids. London has great hands, but he doesn't seem to have much acceleration. Even in his highlights I didn't see a single time where he separated from the CB. Not sure what his stop end speed is, but I really want some speed on a 1st round WR ...not that it is everything.

Olave had a down year, didn't click quite as much with the freshman QB, but still ...the natural instincts he has as a WR make me drool. A QBs best friend, especially one that often holds the ball too long and the play breaks down on ....Olave is great at coming back to the QB and making himself a target in those instances. I think he will be gone before we pick, and I have a feeling the baseball guy is going to like Garretts PFF numbers more. 🤦

Olave still made great plays... He was just over shadowed by Wilson and Njigba

and willis? lemme guess "raw as a roosters rump but a freakish athlete with tremendous upside in todays NFL"
come on man (surprise the opponents D) rolling him out in the RZ? cash money. hard to stop. be fun to watch anyway.
I dont hate on drake at #1. I'd be excited. as long as we pick up a QB somewhere in early rounds.
there is a good chance (Ive run a few early mocks) the draft just falls that way and the "1st rd QB's" are gone by 13.

Joe Burrow had 24 completions, 244 yards and 2 TDs in the Bengals playoff win.

9 of those receptions, 116 yards and 1 TD went to Chase.

We need an elite receiver. In fact, we probably need to double dip at the position with either a decent free agent addition or another high pick.

We don't utilize big play receivers in this offense. They are used as decoys, at least according to the pre OBJ trade tape. As far fetched as that may seem.

Burrow and Chase have a special connection. And Burrow is a great QB.

Agreed. And Kevin is going to have to learn that it's 2022 and a run-heavy offense with three tight ends, a fullback and endlessly bunched packages isn't going to cut it. It's a harsh reality has has to confront, but he has to confront it. The run game can only take you so far in this era of aerial attack.

If two receivers wanting out for their lack of production doesn't open his eyes, then it's only going to be a detriment to his own career.

This is especially true when Baker cut his teeth throwing in college to guys like Hollywood Brown, CeeDee Lamb and Dede Westbrook.

I'm not trying to undersell Burrow, the guy is a problem, but receivers matter more than ever in the modern NFL. A disgruntled OBJ (Who, to be fair, was always injured), an older Landry, and late round picks like Higgins and DPJ aren't sufficient to facilitate a top passing offense.

exactly. you've got to run the WR inside for baker or run em from the slot.

why do you think KS is running his OFF this way?
