NFL Draft Who do the Browns want for a Receiver from the 2022 draft.

One thing many forget when making such comments as Beckham didn’t make a difference with only 39 yards is, he commands extra attention which opens up other guys. LA comes out looking like champs and smelling like a rose on this one boyz!
Yep. Odell Beckham is the guy on that team commanding the extra attention. It's definitely not Cooper Kupp.

Back on the thread topic, I was wondering how deep the connection between Baker and Garrett Wilson is given they went to the same high school.

I found comments from Mayfield saying he has previously thrown with Wilson.

“I’ve thrown with Garrett a couple times,” Mayfield said when I asked him about Wilson in May of 2019, as Mayfield was preparing for Year 2 as a Brown and Wilson was preparing for Year 1 as a Buckeye. “I tried to get him to Oklahoma but he didn’t go. Garrett’s a great kid, obviously very talented. ... He’s a great kid, has worked really, really hard and the talent is all there. Smart, too.”

I also decided to check out social media activity. As best I could tell, Wilson hasn't ever directly tweeted about Mayfield. They do follow each other, and some of Wilson's likes include the following:

- On October 14, he liked a Dan Orlovsky tweet which said, "Morning. The Browns can absolutely, 100%, unquestionably win a SB with Baker Mayfield. Thanks."
- On January 26, he liked a tweet which pointed out the uncalled defensive holding on Baker's game-sealing interception against Green Bay.
- On January 12, Wilson liked a picture which the "Pumpkinhead" dude posted. It features Garrett Wilson photoshopped in to a Browns jersey, and says "Garrett Wilson at 13. That's the Tweet. Speak it in to existence."

So, safe to say he's a fan of Mayfield and wouldn't mind playing for the Cleveland Browns. In the interest of fairness, he's liked plenty about other quarterbacks and players. Most are Ohio State alum. He also seems to be a fan of Denzel Ward, perhaps for the same reason.

Here's a video of Wilson and Mayfield: First Mayfield talking about Wilson while he's practicing, then Wilson coming over for a quick chat.

Wilson also makes sense from a talent perspective. He's got similar ability to Justin Jefferson, who has been thriving in Minnesota's offense. He's not the fastest guy in the world and he's on the smaller side but he's an exceptional route runner, catches everything, extremely fluid in his movement and plays faster than he'll time.

I like the idea of drafting a receiver who'll support Mayfield after the nonsense which is going down with Odell. We need guys who'll buy in and support their team mates, not actively work against the interests of the team. Wilson has the talent, but he's also got the makings of great chemistry.

Nobody gonna support Mayfield when they run down field wide open every game and don’t get the damn ball. That is the reality and why you had “nonsense” between OBJ and Mayfield. Now LA got Kupp and OBJ catching TD passes and heading deep into the playoffs!

With all the new technology out there isn’t there a way to make BM about 4” taller so he can see those open receivers?

Unless he's accidently liking tweets about being drafted by Cleveland, I'm thinking he does support Mayfield.

We're not going to see eye to eye on blaming Mayfield. I've watched too many great players rally around team mates far worse than Baker. I'd be every bit as disappointed if this was still the Weeden, Manziel or Kizer era. I don't recall Joe Thomas refusing to play or Josh Cribbs loafing out there. We've watched too many guys give everything they had (even if it wasn't much to give) in a 3-13 season to pretend "nonsense" is an unfair description of Odell's antics.

Especially when Odell himself had his fair share of failures between the lines. Left home fist full of stones, unpacked in a new glass condo.

Between a guy who played injured because he didn't want to let his team down and a guy who literally quit on his team because he placed his individual stats above team success, I never imagined I'd see a day where Browns fans supported the latter. I can at least respect Mayfield's effort even though it ended in failure, but not so much Odell. Everyone else battled until the bitter end rather than demanding a release so they could sign a near-minimum contract to play for one of the NFL's best teams.

I don't want to hear anything about this team being blue collar anymore. This fanbase doesn't rip the cap off beer bottles with clenched teeth. Not anymore. Put a dome on the stadium, Jimmy, our vanilla soy macchiatos are getting much too cold.

I was in camp OBJ until this latest news. I felt for the guy because I watched as he was wide open play after play after play with a Baker seemingly staring at him yet not passing to him. But talking FAs out of coming to Cleveland when the Browns were coming off a.good year and dark horse Superbowl favorites? He is a cancer, fuck him.

Not true. OBJ wanted out. That is where the fuckery is rooted in and it's OBJ's to own. A second WR on most teams, a quitter and a front runner. He does not work well with others when things get difficult.

Draft WR prospect rankings

1. Burks
2. Williams (when healthy)
3. Wilson
4. Olave/London
5. Dotson

I would be happy with Burks or Wilson at 13. In a perfect draft, we trade back up into the end of the 1st and draft Williams (he will fall b/c of the torn ACL). If not, then grab Metchie later in the late 2nd, early 3rd.

Go into next season with Burks/Wilson, Williams and DPJ and now we have weapons.

I'd be all in on double dipping if Williams falls far enough, but I wouldn't be surprised if he still goes top 25.

I've got the top three ranked the same, although I like London a little less lately. I feel like the league is pushing in a direction where athleticism is sticking out more and more. As special as London is contested, it's not something I want to rely on.

Burks is going to emerge the unanimous top receiver. The guy is just fucking special.

If the FO goes 1st rd QB? you can bet there are more reasons than just his '22 performance like he threatened to demand a trade
If he didnt get his own way.the tension is obvious as is the reason.baker wanted to play hurt and the coaches wanted him to sit.he even came out in public and said it was up to him If he played.read between the lines sheeple.the kids a pain in the arse behind the scenes. all balls and no brains is great If your a LB.a QB? not so much.
Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that, if Mayfield “doesn’t get assurances that things will change next season,” the quarterback will “consider asking to be traded.”
I think you might get your way baker.things WILL change.
thery arent interviewing QB's for the fun of it I can tell ya.an Im sure baker has heard the news by now.how do you think he took it? you think they would upset him for nothing?oh were drafting a QB all right.1st or 2nd rd.book it.
It would not surprise me If we burnt '23 picks and drafted willis iin a giants trade up.yeah,sh&t just got real!
Is any of this ideal for the CB? It depends on how baker takes it I guess.might he demand a trade? he might.
that would not be good news for browns fans IMO.

You don't really believe MaryKay is trustworthy but Stefanski and Mayfield aren't?
Really? Seriously? Do you also believe everything Grossi or Cowherd say?

Interviewing prospects is part of due diligence. No matter which position they play.
The direction the draft goes is always unpredictable.
They have to prepare for all sorts of possibilities including possibly drafting a QB.
It doesn't guarantee the Browns are drafting a QB and it doesn't make the rest of us sheeple.

It doesnt matter how true it is. news is out.you read the headlines but smoke?=fire. there is real tension there.
just because they dont want it to play out in the media more than it already has? means nothing.

LMFAO! for years they havent interviewed a QB.wake up.you're sleep walking.it makes you sheeple, not the board.
when he said "Its up to me If I play or not" thats a huge FU to the coaching staff who wanted him to rest.
but stick to what you thought a month ago regardless of the changing situation.no problem.posters generally dont change their minds anyway. Its easier to trick someone than to convince them they've been tricked.I could maybe draw you a picture?
