exactly.I dont know why browns fans freak out at the prospect? for the number of 1st rd picks we blow anyway.
GB had the bloody MVP and still traded up to draft a 1st rd QB that nobody even liked as a high pick.
I just hope #6 doesnt freak the fu&k out like browns fans have and demand to be traded.I guess thats what fans are really afraid of.I would not want that to happen.not for us and not for baker.

Welp. Not what I want to be reading about one of my favourite prospects.
Several weeks ago, I reported Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks, widely projected as a first-round pick, tipped the scales at a hefty 230+ pounds during combine training.
Since then, I’m told Burks has gotten his weight down. However, he still does not look as smooth or fluid. Additionally, he’s not running routes as well as the other receivers he’s training with.

One thing which I'm not overly comfortable with is the idea of moving on from Jarvis Landry. I know the price tag is far too steep for his production, but I feel like it send a poor message to the locker room to cut a guy like that over a dollar sign. And I hate the idea of bringing in some youngbloods and not having a guy like Landry there to help guide them.
What I'm wondering is if there is a chance we could extend Landry but at a reduced annual salary. Less cap hit, but more overall dollars on the contract.
The question is what his value would be. Which is hard to say. But I would ideally like to see him remain a Brown.

To be fair to Landry, I don't think anyone can reel Odell in and it isn't his responsibility to do so. Odell's action are his own, and I think everyone around him took all the reasonable steps they could to try and make him feel comfortable and supported in Cleveland. At the same time, Jarvis kept suiting up for us and giving it his all. Even in a lost season with everything going wrong.
I completely understand where you're coming from, but I feel like Landry knows just as well as we do that Odell is a fucking headcase and there wasn't any changing his mind.
And I'm okay with him support Odell. They're best friends and go back a very long time. It undoubtedly hurt, but it is what it is. At the end of the day it wasn't working out for either side, and the split had become inevitable. We can't expect Jarvis to stop being human and not support his closest friend.

I'd say a poor message to send is to keep a guy on your team who doesn't play to his contract. I know there are intangibles with Jarvis, but the locker room was split after OBJ quit the team. I think it's safe to say Jarvis was in OBJ's corner even though OBJ screwed him over.
The FO knows exactly where Jarvis stands and several other players too. If they deem Jarvis should get a reduced salary so be it. Many other teams do it to their players who can no longer play to their contracts and it's just business. That said I'd feel the same if it were BM because the FO may see BM as the problem and not Jarvis and/or OBJ. We just don't have that inside information like they do.
We'll be better able to piece together which players are not long for this team after this FA period and the draft and then it becomes Stephanski's problem to deal with.

It'd be interesting to know where guys stood or if that was more an external narrative. Ultimately, nobody said anything publicly, so who knows except those in the building.

Something happened. BM said a couple times how he had to manage the problem(s) in the locker room. Most of us assume the problem was OBJ, but only KS, the FO and BM know exactly what it is and the guys in there know.
Hopefully the guys returning can use it as motivation in 2023 to not allow it to happen again as well as BM and KS, because it will derail a highly talented team.
I still contend that missing Hunt and Jarvis on offense had a huge negative effect on that offense. Those two guys could get the offense going with their play and inspire the rest of the team.

yeah,you know what it was? our #1 player,the guy everyone is counting on.did something silly and cost the team a year.
the impact of that? remember when jimmyG got hurt because he didnt run out of bounds but wanted to be a tough guy?

Its not just all the offseason work and the sacrifices that go along with that Its also a financial hit as well.
no PO bonuses,loss of production.for every player on the team,staff, you name it.I believe like Ive said that BM is on his last legs in cleveland and he had better come out blazing guns in '22 or his career will be (more or less) finished.
I mean LOOK at the play he made to cause this to happen as well.hard and high with what should have been an easy completion with no D-player in front of the receiver.he wasnt hurt then.terrible terrible INT.QB's who win SB's? dont make plays like that after 4 years in the NFL.period.
