Williams and Wimbley being "actively shopped"...

damn were shopping everybody, way 2 go Mangini, that sends a message, THERE IS NO UNTOUCHABLE ON THIS TEAM

Im laughing my ass off at this lol

I dont care anymore, wtf, just trade whoever, get us a bunch of high draft picks 1st and 2nd rounders, lets roll

As I said in the other thread, I think Mangini has pretty much said F-this, and told the league that our whole team is up for grabs for more draft picks.

What a douche!

Mangini is officially BRAIN DEAD!

He is holding on to every good play that Derek puts out there!

HE IS RETARDED! Officially!!! That article says it all, before I read that, I was still cautiously in support of Mankok, Now...

Its over

BURN MANGINI BURN

His days are numbered, already

Nah, leave Mangini alone on this one.

Realistically who is an untouchable on the Browns at this point?

Whatever Mangini told Lerner when he got hired is starting to surface, Probaly something like "Hey Randy, your squad bites.

Got to start all over budddy, might save you a few bucks at the same time"

We have nothing to lose, we are a ways away from putting a consistent hurting on anyone.

Hope we got the right repairman this time.

When's the deadline, exactly? Midnight tomorrow?

Wow, whose wife did Brady Quinn screw? Whatever King heard from Mangini and Kokinis must've been pretty definitive.

If that's the case, I don't know how we DON'T draft a franchise quarterback, or pull a rabbit out of our ass in a trade.

Nobody's looking at Derek Anderson and thinking, "That's our guy!"

Apparently Mangini is, he was talking about how much he supports Derek and how his shittier than shit stats dont matter.

Mangini is probably rebelling against Lerner now due to the Bernie Kosar hire!

I'll wait and see if anything actually comes true before I start pissing on Mangini (again).

The last thing we need is to get rid of more talent, even if it is for draft picks.

Why are you guys laying this on Mangini?

Good giief, these re all Lerner's moves.

LOL most people believe Learner isnt active enough and you believe he is out there making trade requests? This is Mangini and Kokinis with out a doubt. I hope these guys know how to draft well because they are giving away all our talent on the cheap. We gave away all our playmakers and all we have to show for it is late round draft picks. They have their work cut out for them.

You've got to love the irony of the situation.
Learner passed on Bill's good buddy Scotty P as a gm because he came in here and said, "Your team sucks ass, it's time to crash and burn, purge and start over."
EM said "I can win with these guys, we're a few players away from a championship."
EM won the job because Learner didn't want scorched earth and that's exactly what we're getting.

in a move that would please absolutely no one in the short term but would definitely help us build for the future, if i'm mangini, i'm trading shaun rogers. he's easily the best player on the team, and it would be waving the whitest flag this side of poland 1939, but rogers is nearing 30, this team is going nowhere for at least this and next season, and, if there's ever a year to have two first-round picks, it's 2010.

rogers doesn't want to waste the best years of his career in futility, and we have an opportunity to sell high on him and get more building blocks for the future, a future that he doesn't have a long enough career to be a part of. rogers is a great player right now, but the browns are completely abysmal. by the time they're decent, he could very well be worth nothing. mangini needs to sell high, make the tough call, and get what he can for the future.

this will, of course, never happen.

Well, with the other half of our pass-rush apparently on the blocks, "why not?" at this point. And now that we're talking about it, I actually would prefer to see Rogers go for reasons you explained JD, than Wimbley. Wimbley's all of what, 27? Rogers is clearly the better player, and would garner more in terms of picks, but I just have this horrible vision of Wimbley going to Pitt, or NE and becoming a pro-bowler. Or god-forbid we ship another playmaker to the Jets. Is Buddy Ryan actually calling these shots??

Man/kok or Lerner who cares? Will STH's be getting a refund if the FO is just going to phone it in for the rest of the season?

FWIW, Barry sent me another tweet saying the article (which was a subscriber only thing) was merely him commenting on a rumor from Lombardi. Don't want to get Shep in trouble again, but if anyone feels like *ahem* summarizing.....

Ghoolie is and has been right for a long time on the issue of lerner the meddling madman..
Lerner is far more active behind the doors shadow than most fans think...if you do a little investigating you see fingerprints that develop over randy lerners 6 years as owner..nothing that stands as 100% proof but some very conclusive constants that taint and strangle the very soul of this organization..

As far as trading away talent its more like we are trading away malcontent and unhappy players and thats going to be most of them that are under lerners design on the team and organization...his in house secrecy policies are absurd and restrictive for starters..

My only complaint thusfar is this whole team firesale should have been done before the season started but i can almost assure everyone that lerner had more to do with it not happening then mangini...

There were some positive things that I've seen throughout the course of Derek working at quarterback that I think will get better
Scariest quote from the cleveland.com article.

How anyone can think DA "will get better" at this point is beyond me. I should retract that. He can get better but that "better" isn't playoff QB caliber. Ouch.

I agree. Some of the biggest stretches I've ever seen from a Browns head coach. I'm not sure what Quinn did to piss him off as I really thought Quinn was a Mangini type of player. Hard working, publically a team guy, film studier, etc. I can't figure it out.

I wouldn't be suprised if he trades Quinn for a song after those comments
.

Someone on the old board paraphrased an OBR report that said there was some anti-Quinn sentiment in the locker room because BQ spent so much time working with Daboll this spring & summer. I guess the feeling was that Quinn was doing more than just preparing to run the offense - he was monopolizing the OC's time and trying to get an unfair leg up in the competition.

Per the same paraphrasing, Quinn lost the support of Mangini and Daboll when he suggested changes to the offensive gameplan. Not sure why exactly that pissed off the coaching staff so much; maybe it was because they were already frustrated with how he was running the offense.
