With the 21st pick in the NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Phil Taylor!

We have to talk about SOMETHING during the dry season... and core debates spring up. Have every year since we started doing this back in the 1990s. I don't think it's the topic that's inherently wrong or troubling -- I mean, nobody debates himself so for every Clausen post I wrote somebody else countered it and we were all even-steven -- it's just a matter of how well we do keeping things civil.

You know my stance: Just like a TV show can't warp your kids' minds if you don't actually let them watch it... and just like somebody else's gay marriage has no effect on your straight marriage, assuming you don't live in a one bedroom together... no topic is poison to anybody if they simply choose to not participate in it. That's the beauty of all these different threads and categories.

I will never get somebody dropping into a thread to say they hate the thread. How does that make any sense? It's like starting a fight with somebody you don't really know because you don't like his looks or the way he talks or thinks.

Uhm... isn't it cool then that you don't hang out and never will? Isn't it a non-problem? Isn't it kind of self-correcting? You'll never live together or be in the same club so how is it a problem?

But we're talking about human beings and they're endlessly vexing. And I have no idea how I went off on that weird riff but I hope it made some sense. Peace, love, and understanding.

Last spring was pretty bad. People bolted and/or were suspended -- that usually means things aren't going well.

That's kind of what I said. We didn't do well on the civility front.

This should be on the masthead of every board: "I will never get somebody dropping into a thread to say they hate the thread. How does that make any sense? It's like starting a fight with somebody you don't really know because you don't like his looks or the way he talks or thinks."

It's simple - don't start multiple threads on one topic just to control the topic. We had a shitload of QB threads centering on Clausen - you know it and I know you know it. That was pissing people off. We had Clausen threads getting derailed and you'd start another thread. But then, you'd derail other threads to talk about Clausen. My head hurts remembering.

Sounds good, Veg. I'm sure we see it very differently, which isn't surprising... and in the end, doesn't really matter because we're all doing much better this year.

In Fact here you go... dated 3/26/11

Y-town; Isn't he a 3-4 NT simular to Rubin. I thought he was more of a two gap guy team were looking 3-4 were looking at for NT. I saw somewhere in a mock that he was projected to go to NE at the end of round one.

Solon16; Coveted as a 3-4 NT...But can play both NT and DT! BIG BIG BOY...And athletic for size.

Shep; Not quick enough to play the under tackle next to Rubin. Liuget would be great if he fell. I like that South Florida kid in three, or Casey. I'd take the RDE over the under tackle myself.

Solon16; Then you haven't seen Taylor play play! He wont make it to the second. he's very quick for a big man...he's "shaun rogers motivated" quick. If we trade back I'd love to get him. Just like my preference for bookend Tackles on O ...I have a preference for "closed Book end DT's"as well...in a 4-3

For Damajuki...in case he came here and saw a claussen thread and ran for the hills!

Except this year it was pimping WR with a dash of DE and then bashing Peterson in multiple threads.. It really didn't change all that much.

Thanks, bud. Much appreciated. You know, if you wanna diss somebody bad enough, you can always find something.

Have a good one.

Just for poo (my young son repeats every bad word I say, so I am cleaning things up) and giggles, here are guys that went in the third at #70 or later:

#70 - Justin Houston (speed rush end, 11 2010 sacks, profile fits Heckert's prototype LDE)
#79 - Leonard Hankerson (only guy other than Green, Jones, and Little that profiles as a potentional #1 WR)
#84 - Mason Foster (potential starting WSLB)
#85 - Jah Reid (will be Baltimore's starting RT)

Someone like this is who we potentially gave up in the trade up from #27 to #21. It seems Jauron really likes a jumbo interior, so Taylor himself doesn't bother me so much any more. The trade up still burns though. I'd love to have Reid or Foster to add to the rest of our draft. I think both would have a really good shot to start as rookies.

Yeah, the trade up from 27 to 21 still isn't flipping my ovaries. Houston and Foster were draft faves of mine... and Reid would've been a terrific pick.

Just calling like I see it brother. There is nothing untrue in my statement. If the truth disturbs you, I cannot help that. There is nothing "diss"respecful in telling the truth. As for "finding somthing".. y. No digging was needed, it hit us in the face daily for the past 6-7 weeks.

And nothing true, either. It's just an unfair and unnecessary accusation. I debated civilly at all times and anybody who didn't want to participate was politely invited to take a pass.

But if you're into chickenshitting, go for it. I don't really fire back anymore so it'll be easy-peasy.

I never said it was uncivil. Those are your words. I only said it was pretty much the same posture this year, just with different players. It was not an accusation, it was an observation. Just let it go.

Wait... you took a shot at me and then told me to let it go? When you fight, do you ever ask the other guy to punch himself?

Just next time you wanna say something mean... skip it. I tell my daughter that all the time. She's getting better.

What's your deal dude? No one was picking a fight. I only ever made an observation. Your the one getting your panties in a bunch. So I'll say it a different way. Get over it. All I did was comment on how you have been posting, and on what topic. You want to make it somthing more than that. Fine, that's your right. As for me, I'm not going to entertain that. I'd rather talk about football.. so move on.

What do you mean "I won't do it again"??? .. I only made an observation as to how you post.. That's, after all, what we do here. I think that, will most assuredly contininue, not just with you but with everyone here. You mystify sometimes my friend.. But yes... let's move on.
