Wake me up,
I've been gone too long, cause there's so much ahead of me
All my life I've had pain and sorrow and that's all I could ever see
I've sat empty wasting all my days, waiting for a future dream

And now I see that theres so much more
Well I forgive myself and just let it go

So here I stand
With my arms wide open
With no regrets at all

I've laid naked with the past I've made
and theres no reason for me to bleed
What could have been is a nowhere place
That clouds the view ahead of me

I made a sacrifice
To free my mind
I've shed my past and put it all behind me

Now here I stand
With my whole life before me
and no regrets at all

All my life
I've felt all alone on my own
But my self pity got the best of me
Now I've learned my past doesn't have to be my enemy
And I'm the only one, who's in control,in control of my destiny.....

Words by Dave Meniketti and the music performed by Y&T.

One of my favorites, hope you enjoy it.

if you like thrash, listen to "gingerspittz", they're from youngstown ohio. my son plays bass. they are good, just not quite my type of music. i prefer good ol' rock & roll like "yes", e,l,p. and any sixties music

Classic Rock.. but mostly, Zepp, Floyd, Queen, Soundgarden, Metallica, Steely Dan, ZZ top, Neil Young, I love 50's music, big band, Blues.. I saw Stevie Ray Vaugh for 5 bucks in a dive bar before anyone knew who he was (including me).. mouth on the floor..WOW!!.. Foo Fighters, Black Crowes, Police, Kiss, Alice in Chains, Rockabilly music especialloy the Rev. Horton Heat..Best live show out there right now you can see for around 15 bucks.. No lie..worth every dime..every time.. .. I am not into country so much but Johnny Cash is the man.. I saw a lot of shows growing up and saw a lot of greats who are now dead.. .. As I mentioned SRV above..Also saw AC/DC with Bon Scott, Thin Lizzy with Phil Lynott, Queen with Freddy Mercury..who IMO is THE greatest singer ever he could do it all.. blister the walls and sing love songs and Brian May.. As Eric Clapton says.. the guy's simply amazing.

I love all this stuff and more.. but I'll take my church hymnal any time.. The hymns I grew up with before I had a relationship with God never made an impact on me. .but now.. .. listening through the ears of faith.. amazing..

Growing up in the sixties and seventies my music prefences are much like others growing up in that time period....Beatles, the Who,CCR...etc. Later on I got more into progressive rock Genesis, Yes , Pink Floyd, and Queen to name a few. My true love was and always will be acoustic.....CSN, Leo Kottke,..yes John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot,James Taylor,Dan Fogelberg, and on and on!!

My music taste hasn't wavered much after forty plus years. I still love listening to above mentioned bands and individuals, but the thanks to my daughter and the world wide web I discovered a new found love of music after a 25 year hiatus. ( btw I love the word hiatus...sounds like it might descibe some kinky sexual act...LOL!!!) So what am I listening today? Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, the above mentioned Leo Kottke, Masaaki Kishibe and a few others. Acoustic music at it's purest,no voices,no synthasizing....just music from a box with a few strings attached!!!

It's the coordination between the laft hand and the four fingers on the right hand that amazes me! I played fingerstyle years ago but it was soley based on the Travis style of fingerpicking, this guy is WAY beyond anything I would ever hope to accomplish, but I don't give up easy so I'll keep practicing.
