NFL Draft QB Draft Watch 2026

These were the only guys playing and damn near all of us watched FM last night. He was outstanding and that was a great game.
It looked very much like an NFL game.

Indiana Fernando Mendoza 15/22 222 1/1 90.2

Alabama Ty Simpson 19/39 212 1/21 19.9

The Browns need a place to put Mendoza if they want him.
They don't really have that space for him in '26.
They're still tied to the world famous Watson. We still have the privilege of one more glorious season with him. Happy endings or not.
They also still have Lefty as a backup on a 3rd rounder rookie contract (who's at least shown to be better than DTR).
And of course there's the Shed guy who's recently flashed some nice touch on his passes and chemistry with receivers against a one win team.
If Rees is back and still calling the plays next season then there's good reason to expect more of the same.
Looking back to the '25 draft, I'm still among those who would not have taken Gabriel.
And in the the fifth I still would have taken McCord. He should still register in the memory bank of Buckeye fans and Illinois fans.
Right now any team can sign him off the Eagles practice squad. They simply need to make a spot in the 53 for him.
It wouldn't be such an awful thing having:
Watson, Gabriel, Sanders and McCord all expected to show for training camp in '26.
I type all that well aware my opinions mean Jack. Just living in reality.
After all, this is the team that signed Flacco a second time and then traded him to a division rival in season.
Expectations mean next to nothing.
Depodesta will be gone. Maybe Berry is ready to ride without the training wheels.

If Sanders plays well, the room next year will prob be:

QB1 Sanders
QB2 Watson
QB3 Gabriel

I'm okay with that. I'm really hoping Sanders does well, as I'm concerned the quantity of teams who will be eyeing a QB in April will drive the price way up, leaving us with not only an expensive Watson still, but also no high draft picks for a couple of years.

Last year, this FO wanted Gabriel. I'm not sure I trust them to trade away a pile our near future draft picks (it may take three 1sts), and select a rookie QB.

My hope, Sanders balls out, then it's

QB1 Sanders
QB2 Watson
QB3 Gabriel competing with a mid draft rookie QB.

You guys do listen to these people ex-coaches and scouts etc. they keep talking about Mendoza like he's a no miss, even if they don't come right out and say it. years of trying to take in all these guys say, that is what they are saying. Mendoza just seems to dang intelligent to even play football. the way he impresses men who have done this for decades is kinda mind blowing.
If the Titans don't take him we will regret not paying the price to do so.

It’s not within our reach.

Unless we’re picking number 1
We still have Watson and a 3rd round pick and SS …

We’re going for
More depth this year.

I'm kind of fine either way: sticking with Sanders or trading up for Mendoza. If Sanders proves to be a solid NFL QB, we're better off building the team around him. If not, trade up for Mendoza and commit to him for 5 years. It will take a while to get the offensive line back to good.
So it would be bumpy.

Sanders included in a trade is ok but, if he plays well the best play is using all of our picks or even a small trade down depending on how the draft goes and get multiple high picks to rebuild the offense.

Mendoza = Super Model
Sheduer = Good looking

This changing a team doesn't take forever see Sean Payton. 3 years takes a team from being 30-52 the previous 5 years to this in 3 years.
3 years.
Mendoza has Super Bowls in his future. I want them with the Browns. don't blow this.
by the way the last time I campaigned this hard for a draft pick it was Joe Thomas.
