Neither Ryan nor Fitz are washed up. Both leagues better than Baker, and will lead us to playoffs with our roster no problem. Ryan could take us to a Superbowl imo. Carr is no god, and Wilson just had a horrid year. Both could easily be in play. Even Fitzpatrick is an absolute winner, something we haven't had in a long time. I think on this, Stefanski was correct. I felt that the Browns would not be able to run the ball on the Steelers, and I was correct. Most felt because the Steelers were so bad at stopping the run, the they key to beating them was to run. As I posted in my most accurate prediction of the Steelers would win, the Browns offense was tailor made for Tomlin.
Nick Chubb is not any kind of threat as a pass receiver and the Browns biggest shortcoming is the ability to pass the ball down the field. The Steelers were hogging the LOS, stacking the box and committed both to getting after Mayfield, and putting helmets on the LOS. I don't give a shit how great your OL is, no 5 men can block 9. The Giants used to stifle Jim Brown the same way. The only time the Steeler D really had to guess run or pass was on first down, and that was when it was best to use Chubb. On second and third downs, Tomlin knew the Browns would either call Chubb, or an impotent short pass. THey had no fear that asshole Mayfield was going to beat them with his noodle arm
Don't blame Stefanski for keeping Chubb on the Bench, blame Tomlin. Tomlin used Stefanski and the laptop to wipe his ass. Stefanski had nothing in his playbook and he had a QB that could not keep the Steeler D honest. Sorry, the Steelers were not going to be beaten by Chubb. The prepared to smother him, and dared Mayfield to pass.
I called this 2 weeks ago and if I can figure it out, ShitMyPantski REALLY must be fired.
