Tyquan Thornton's unofficial 4.21 was revised to a 4.28 - so, not the new fastest 40 yard time. Olave was also dropped to a 4.39.

Unfortunately, I just don't see Garrett Wilson falling to 13. And with Burks having a not great combine (Not bad, at all, just not GREAT) I worry we might also see Olave come off the board too.

On the bright side, Burks may be a faller based on his combine testing. Which could be a blessing for us because fuck his testing - the man's tape is otherworldly.

It happens every year, a mediocre WR runs a fast 40 and people lose their minds. SMDH....

1) These guys train for months on track technique to run the 40
2) Running the 40 off the line, in pads, is not the same as running the 40 on the track. Not the same technique, you have a DB and pads are weighing you down.

Schwartz ran a great 40 but was a mediocre, gadget WR in college...how did that turn out?

My dream scenario would be to sign Godwin in FA, draft Wilson at 13, then trade up into the back half of the 1st round and draft Jameson Williams. Godwin, Wilson & Williams would add speed, speed, speed and plenty of separation...and we would the explosive athletes on the edges to put D's on their heels. It would completely transform our offense and the running game would be even better.

Dreams aside, and being realistic, Christian Kirk is a 2nd tier guy who would add all of those things above to the offense. 77 catches, 982 yards, 12.8 YPC and 11 TD's. Could be a great slot addition to help out this offense. Then we can focus on the best WR available at 13...Wilson or Burks. We can come back later in the draft and get a steal like Pickens, Ross or Metchie...and we are set. Kirk, Wilson/Burks and Pickens/Ross/Metchie and our WR corp is completely transformed and dangerous.

christian watson will prolly end up being the best WR of this group an he was projected to the 5th rd a week ago..we'll end up drafting some short,small fast WR with great NCAA numbers at #13 who'll end up on IR 5 games into the year.these big school players come in charging on hype.most of them dont pan out.we just lost OBJ,can we hope for a better WR from collage? WR who play in the AFCN? had better be durable or they wont make it to 17.

That's why it's called a 'dream scenario'.

Watson has a lot of potential, but drops a lot of balls. He isn't as polished as guys like Wilson, Olave, Williams or even Burks (who needs a lot of polish). He's a kid you take in round 3 or 4 and bank on his potential.

Garrett Wilson is a Stephon Diggs clone...with better route running ability, better ability to separate and better ball skills. Diggs was great in the same offense in Minnesota and has been the addition that helped propel Josh Allen in Buffalo. Wilson is a guy that can flourish in Cleveland and really help Mayfield.

BTW - FTR - the top 14 WR's in the NFL last season were all 6'2" or under. Big tall, average speed WR's are not what explosive offenses are built around. Every once in a while you find the unicorn like Tee Higgins in Cincinnati or Mike Williams in LA...but for the most part, the best WR's in the NFL are shorter (relatively speaking), fast, explosive guys who make plays (Adams, Chase, Jefferson, Diggs, Kupp, etc....).

in cleveland, a TE was our best receiver. Im just sayin (not specifically to you but the entire board) dont get too excited with these WR's. they cant change things with our OFF very much Im afraid thier impact will be (has been) very much over stated.

I love the idea of being aggressive to address WR in both free agency and the draft.

If we can spend upwards of $30M-per-year on Odell and Jarvis, we can easily afford a guy like Godwin in FA and Wilson on a rookie contract. Go get 'em.

Unfortunately, Wilson just went from a "maybe he will be there at 13" to that being a fucking pipe dream. Which is a shame because at this stage he just clearly wants to be a Cleveland Brown. Oh well, maybe we'll see him on contract two. Burks is still very much in play at 13 - and, like you, I think he's 1B.

If we make the smart decision and grab Burks, we definitely need some speed to accompany it. A Godwin or a Kirk accomplishes that well. I don't want to write off Schwartz (I dig his approach to the offseason, sounds like he's working hard) but he alone can't be the explosive factor in this offense. Get some wheels and help free up Burks.

Just some of the stop WR's in the NFL. Smaller, faster WR's is how what explosive offenses are built around. The Rams tallest WR is Cooper Kupp at 6'2".

Wilson and Olave are basically the same route runners except Wilson creates more separation. Wilson actually created the most separation of any WR in the draft per PFF. He also is better in traffic and after the catch.

I would put Olave #4 after Wilson, Burks and Williams.
