Our roster is great... Thanks to John Dorsey rebuilding it from the garbage can that was The Laptops last time in charge. We want him gone for a few dozen reasons. 1: He is a backstabbing crybaby that ran to Haslem because Dorsey threw his useless spreadsheets in the trash, getting Dorsey fired. 2: He conned Truckstop Jimmy into forcing whomever came in to let him run the show. He is drawing up plays and practices and scouting reports and everything else on his laptop and dictating how every facet of the team will be ran.
It is failing. We are regressing backwards, yet again. Honestly if Truckstop Jimmy would just shit an The Laptop and let AB and KS run their own thing I think most of us would in fact sit back and wait to see how it plays out. But as long as The Laptop is running the show this franchise is going nowhere.
I somewhat disagree. Dorsey's impact on this organisation is super underrated, and the way he was fired is something I didn't agree with at the time and still don't agree with.
I was freaked out about Berry getting the job. I wasn't for it at all. But I've been impressed with the additions he's made.
The 2020 draft was excellent. Jed Wills has been excellent, albeit overshadowed by Wirfs, Delpit was fantastic this year, Phillips has been banged up but has flashed (he was a monster in the finale), Elliot and Bryant have been solid role players, and DPJ has emerged as a very good receiver - he's not a #1, but a steal in the 7th.
The 2021 draft gave us Greg Newsome (Stud), JOK (Future pro-bowler). A little early to say on the others, but I liked what I saw from Lecounte and Felton in their limited opportunities. Togiai could be solid in the rotation, and Hudson bounced back from a woeful performance against TJ Watt to a dominant performance against the Bengals, so who knows. I love Schwartz talent, but he played with a bad QB in college and Auburn can't develop receivers so he'll take time.
We've added some nice free agents with long-term additions such as JJ3, Troy Hill and Conklin. I love his short-term deals, too. Guys like Clowney, McDowell, Walker, Joseph, Jackson and McKinley who are very cheap and making a value impact. He also got us out from under some bad contracts early on.
He's also managed to lock down Garrett, Bitonio, Teller to favourable deals - and we've still got some nice cap space, with strong options to create more if needed.
Overall, I like what I've seen from Berry so far. I don't think we're going backwards so much as just having to endure a very awkward year.
